I am just going to go out on a limb and say a fluke.
It just happened a week ago, you have no idea what the long term effects of the revolution is going to do to that country.
a fluke?
oh wait you're the idiot who thought that egypt's revolution won't mean anything and a dictator will take over once it's done

Sadly that's the average Western mindset.

umm no..
Its called history.
Shit like this has happened before.
All i see and have seen, is a revolution with no organized leadership trying to be peaceful, falling on its ass, and turning into a bloodbath literally in a flash.
Kind of hard to have faith in a country that is revolting when both sides appear to be chicken with their heads cut off now.

If this is what you "see", you need to actually go to AJE, the BBC, or even MSNBC/CNN now that they have their heads out of their asses and actually read.

As far as I can tell the average outlook in the U.S. on this one is apathy.
I'll just leave this here then: http://m.gawker.com/5749601/the-right+wing-nuts-guide-to-egypt
Oh God I'm watching Bill O'reilly. He thinks that communists are trying to take over Egypt.
Communist Egypt sounds bad ass.
Communist Egypt sounds bad ass.
Civil unrest Egypt is best Egypt
Bill O'reilly is trying to accuse Obama of being the leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, who are also apparently communists. :v:
The sad thing is that they have a fan base that is more retarded then them that will believe it all.

"Why the Mid East Hates us
- Because we're rich and free"
REALLY? Hmm... Isn't it because the US backs all of the terrible dictatorships there? Or that we wage wars against their people?
No... that can't be... Glenn Beck, you tell us the truth.

How do people take this seriously. He sounds like a crazy conspiracy theorist ranting in the street.
I have learnt something from this, apparently the UK is "on fire" and rioting. I must complain to the BBC about their lack of reporting on this.
(I guess he is referring to the recent student protests, which were not a riot IMO, a bunch of one day protests does not mean a country is "on fire").

This is why most FPers in the U.S hate it here.
This is how Mubarak reacted to the protests.

Someone had way too much time on their hand.
I was expecting a downfall parody though :(
Hearing gun fire in Al Jazeera.
[editline]2nd February 2011[/editline]
For once I'm not sure who's biased, but I'm certain for once BBC is.
pro mubarak thugs are firing live ammunition , 3 dead and 10 injured in the last 30 minutes :\
The military should join the revolution already.
I'm now fucking raging over that last call.
I gotta find a way to get there somehow.
Fucking hell. The military is supposed to be enforcing martial law yet (supposed) civilians are murdering each other. Fistfights maybe don't take a side but this is just absurd.

Just out of interest how did they manage to get guns / ammo? I mean are guns legal in Egypt or have they had to acquire them via other means?

They're undercover police forces.
Jsm, not every country has anti-gun laws. I don't know anything about Egypt, and based on how most dictators run things, they probably don't have (legal) guns, but it isn't like it's hard to buy, steal, or make a firearm.

pro Mubarak = police + thugs , guns are illegal but I don't think that's a problem for them
Oh, well, Tark's comment sounds much more reasonable than mine.
Ah, the couple of posts explain pretty well. Thanks.
How long till the news people (Over here in the UK anyway) stop saying "apparently" connected to the government and just say it.
Also, I just saw this while browsing another site and thought it was relevant. Sorry if its already been posted

Why did the Al Jazeera reporter mention snipers before they even appeared? As if she knew or something.
She was interviewing someone and she randomly asked if there were snipers in the museum and the guy was like... "uh no..."

They (or the BBC, cant remember) were reporting many hours ago that there were soldiers stationed on roof tops. Perhaps that is what they are referring to.
