Is it possible that the pro-Mubarak supporters are really goverment agents?
Well I see them suddenly come out days after I stop seeing riot police, and when they captured some, they had police IDs or Government IDs. So is it possible?
Dutch news: Protest in Egypt are still going strong, Mubarak says he wants to step down but can't because that would propel the country into chaos. :smith: Dutch politics: We can be badass and say off with his head but we've gotta know who's going to be in charge next, maybe the muslim brotherhood would take over and we don't want that. :smith: ² Dutch Journalism bond: We advise journalists not to go there, there's a hunt for journalists. Dutch Journalists: Fuck you, this is too important, we're going. :buddy: Also this is post 1984 of this thread.

For the americans that think that they arent getting enough coverage on this, in australia we've gotten one report at the fery beginning, that's it. No-one even knows what I'm talking about when I mention it. It's disgraceful. I've always had my qualms about egypt, what with attacking Israel on Yom Kippur, but this cause has given me new faith in the egyptian people.

SBS's coverage is quite good.
Which channel are you watching? SBS's coverage is quite good.
ABC 24 has been having a good coverage too, keeping in mind that they also have to show other stuff in the news too.
Which channel are you watching? SBS's coverage is quite good.
ABC that shit up.
ʻŌʻō means digging stick in Hawaiian :haw:
Its the weekend, that means that I get to spend all weekend watching the stream and talking with you guys. but as long as it seems something big is going to happen. I realized this stream takes up a shit ton of my bandwith while I listened and played TF2 at the same time.

As for the bit about journalists, the (international) journalists covering this are insane, they have been arrested, beaten, chased, had their equipment seized. Yet they are still out there reporting.

The way the police just rams into the crowd like heartless beasts makes me really angry.
I love the movement and all, don't get me wrong, but it seriously hurts to hear that museums are being broken into. Is there anyone you could speak to try to stop that or something, because losing King Tut to a government change is deeply saddening to me.
That is the looters' fault; the real protesters condemn the looters and have repeatedly handed them over to the army. Also the museums themselves have been under military guard for a while now.
The BBC have a quick recap of what's happened today. Might be useful for people wondering what's happened today. 1745: A quick recap of the day's events: Many thousands of people are continuing to demonstrate in central Cairo, demanding the resignation of President Hosni Mubarak. Earlier in the day, the army stepped up its presence and appeared to be co-operating with protesters to defend the entrances to the square. Around two thousand supporters of President Mubarak held a counter demonstration in another district but eyewitnesses say there have been only sporadic clashes so far. "Earlier in the day, the army stepped up its presence and appeared to be co-operating with protesters to defend the entrances to the square." This could be a good sign I guess. (Wow 51 pages)
Back home now, an army general stopped our taxi at a roadblock on our way back and scolded me for going home and not sitting-in with the rest of the protesters, he said "If you want this to end, you should persist with your demands and stay there, not go home.", I told him I had two elderly parents at home to take care of, and that I join that 12KM march every other day to support the cause. Man, I really need to do something about this, I just asked my parents to join us; we could probably use the car instead of that long walk if they decide to join in. Too bad it's not a van, would've made a good mobile home. Oh, and we met that kid in the vid I posted earlier again today, he was leading another protest. :buddy:
