I say it agian. I have respected the egyptian people for a long time until yom kippur. but this has rallied my faith in the little guy and in egypt. Go on egyptians, fellow souls, brothers in arms, march tall in the face of the bullshit propaganda, the lies and the insults, march until egypt is free again.
@That_Crazy_Gman All governmental policies in Arabia hardly represent (if not completely contradict) the wills of the people.
After 6th of October (What the west calls 'yom kippur'), Sadat switched his politics and traded his image on the inside for a new glamorous one on the international arena. I hope his Nobel was well worth plunging his own country into what we see today, Mubarak followed in his stead.
Just heard on the radio that Mubarak resigned as head of NDP can anyone confirm this?
Yep, Al Jazeera is saying that too.
Edit: His son has also resigned.
Edit Edit: He's still president though.

confirmed
So does this mean it'll all be over soon, I hope so atleast.

Probably not to be honest.
Not really, he's slowly changing things but he's still not stepping down as president.
I really think the people should march. Yes, staying there for a while will get him to eventually step down probably, but if it takes too long some might lose faith. I feel like they need to make history here - more of it - and march.
Aljazeera Arabic: Urgent || Army tanks prepare to enter Tahrir square from the direction of Abdul-Moneam Ryad square.

I think he has to resign as president before the protesters are happy.

No idea, but this has potential to turn badly for all parties involved.
Also, Alarabyia just denied Mubarak's resignation. Get your facts straight god damnit. :argh:

Well fuck, and the western media will still spin this against the protesters I bet.
Well fuck, and the western media will still spin this against the protesters I bet.
What sort of western media are you reading and watching? I haven't seen any spinning against the protesters from the BBC at least. (In fact they have been accused of not showing both sides, and spending too much time on it. As I correctly predicted they would LOL people can never be happy with the news).
I haven't seen much of BBC on this sadly. I also haven't heard anything else about the tanks yet.

Wait what? But isn't the army cool with the people? Or is that the presidential guard?
Wtf is going on?
They're sitting in front of tanks to prevent them from going in now.

I love how determined the people of Egypt are.
It's very inspiring for me to watch people fight for their rights, but even as the government tries to push them down, they get back up and push back.

I pray to Buddha and any other diety who might listen that Mubarak doesn't do something drastic.

It is indeed beautiful and something I'd like to be able to partake in, not because it's cool, but to have a purpose.
Sorry about my comment earlier, voodooattack. I hope for the best for all of you fighters in Egypt and i hope the people of Egypt gets their rights in the end aswell.

The only reliable source at this moment is OP. The media can tell whatever they want and people will buy that crap.

Most of the army is, the problem lies within the high ranks and the loyalists.

What comment? I must've missed it!
And thanks, I only wish I could join them at Tahrir sq. right now. Wish I'd went there before they cut all traffic on highways.
Voodoo, Pharaoh and Random are all reliable sources. Pharaoh is Voodoo's brother and Random watches Arabian channels to deliver news.
Of course Al-Jazeera is pretty reliable too.
And wow, yeah, I guess the determination is still there. I hope those tanks don't do anything stupid.
Gah, Al Jazeera is just looping now.
But why are they blocking the tanks?

I feel bad for laughing at this, but I did. AJE does some of the best twitter/blog sifting.
But why are they blocking the tanks?
Army presence inside the square is a symbol of control, it can also impede their numbers if the army gets a foothold.
They can enter as individuals but tanks inside is a stupid move, tanks can't attack individuals, it's a scare tactic ordered by Mubarak.
Also, new comic by Sherif Arafah:

At least there's finally a proper photo to go with the saying. :hist101:
I saw the title and thought OP loved baton twirling, and the 50+ pages were people discussing guys playing effeminate sports.
