Beautiful display of peace!
Wael Ghoneim's interview on the popular "10pm" talk show with Mona El-Shazly: (To view the English subtitles press the 'CC' button at the bottom)
Wow, that was just... that was just unlike anything I've ever seen before. That just made me realize how truly pure and innocent this whole revolution is... unstaged, unpaid, undirected... It just seems impossible in our world. Humans are so greedy by nature, it seems everything is setup by someone, everything is directed, everything is controlled - but this isn't, I don't even know how this was possible. Wow.
Bloody dangerous, that's for sure.
So is protesting in the streets of Cairo.
Egypt is hardly in the news any more, correspondents are being called back to the Netherlands. :smith:
Well, thing are taking a different turn now. Government buildings are surrounded by protesters (PM had to relocate to the Ministry of Civil Aviation in the last 30 minutes) and Suleiman just announced that the protests are no longer tolerable, which means more violence is to be expected. We'll see how this turns out. [editline]9th February 2011[/editline]
Bloody dangerous, that's for sure.
Hahaha, changing a lightbulb in Egypt would be a hazardous practice by your standards. I've seen electricians cutting live wires with their teeth.

I demanded it in the states. I think it would be awesome if I got this news channel. We REALLY NEED an unbiased Non-American news source in the US.
3 Kills (1 confirmed) and 100 injured at Alwady Algadeed and Asyut in a confrontation between the police and protesters. It's hard to get any news out of there. [editline]9th February 2011[/editline]
I demanded it in the states. I think it would be awesome if I got this news channel. We REALLY NEED an unbiased Non-American news source in the US.
Unbiased media is a myth. Less biased ones are good to have though. Edit: This just showed up on my facebook:
نداء إستغاثة من محافظة الوادي الجديد بمصر.. تقوم الشرطة منذ ٤٨ ساعة بقتل المواطنين بدم بارد بواسطة الذخيرة الحية، ساعدوهم فما يحدث هناك مذبحة دموية وجريمة ضد الإنسانية| A distress call from "Alkharga" city in the province of New Valley, Egypt.. Since 48 hours, the Police kill people in cold blood by live ammunition. Please help them, what is happening there is a bloody massacre and a crime against humanity!
What's happened in the last 3 or 4 days anyway? I haven't read up much on it as it seems to just be protests
I demanded it in the states. I think it would be awesome if I got this news channel. We REALLY NEED an unbiased Non-American news source in the US.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Russia Today international?
Edit: This just showed up on my facebook:
What, so now the cops are just shooting people?
What, so now the cops are just shooting people?
More like a stupid, corrupt cop taking advantage of the situation, triggering a series of events that he'll regret ever starting in the near future. The full story is here but I can't translate it right now. Reuters mentioned this but didn't go into the details: http://af.reuters.com/article/egyptNews/idAFLDE71822Y20110209
What's the most recent news from Egypt?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Russia Today international?
Never heard of it. Even with cable. And when you have only basic cable, you get your local news, CNN and FOX and that was about it (at least what I could remember) and neither of those is doing a good job. Well seeing as the CNN reporters were messed with by police and FOX just being FOX. I found this while searching through threads. http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1057692-First-driving-lesson-tomorrow.-What-the-fuck-do-I-do?p=27920141&viewfull=1#post27920141 What a jerk. Even more so the people who rated him funny and agree.
What's the most recent news from Egypt?
They just found this small chamber underneath the state security building at Almansoura, inside they found the remains of 4 people that seemingly have died a while ago.
I think I get Russia Today on VirginTV here in the UK.
Edit: This just showed up on my facebook:
That doesnt sound good. People massacred in a small city where noone can get the news out because nobody is there. Makes sense, but terrible. Edit: Guys, watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5b_OIOAayjY Basically sums up all the lies and crimes of the recent days of the Egyptian regime, good video to send to someone to quickly fill them in on the wrongs of the government and why the people are out there on the streets.

In other news, it looks like the revolution has spread to the USA: American Egyptians are saying no to tyranny! :hist101:
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Russia Today international?
It's also state controlled if I'm correct.
The video has been removed?
It works for me!
What's happened in the last 3 or 4 days anyway? I haven't read up much on it as it seems to just be protests
As you know, around a 30 year totalitarian Regime from the Asshole Mubarak, people got pissed and have been camping near Tahrir square for about two weeks I believe. Also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Egyptian_protests Wiki has sweet summaries of every day so far.
if the whole world had the people of egypt, we'd be in a much better place
But Mr. Mubarak and his private army of fanatics are part of the population of Egypt and, by extension, its people!
