It seems that the media over the years has caused that problem. I mean I am sure non English speakers do not get scared or think of terrorism if people shout "god is great".
I get scared when someone tells me they will pray for my soul.
Religion=issues.

Just because they're wrong, doesn't mean they're braindamaged or liable to kill you for their faith.
Don't be an asshole.

That was very funny.
Im not trying to pull any T-card here.
but when guys are in a car with anti-tank weapons chanting god is greater or may god grant us victory.
all in the name of peace kinda sends mixed messages.
if these are what "peaceful protesters" do
I wonder what you could do with combatant protesters.
again anti-tank weaponry =/= peace or a peaceful protest.
More like getting Shot On Sight by the army in the area.
Either play devil's advocate or don't, but quit with this pussyfooted "I'd be cautious" shit.
Oh shit, I haven't been paying attention to the news. I hope Gaddafi gets overthrown, he's fucking nuts.

why do you even give a shit about religion
seriously it's not about god it's about the people getting what they want, and that's a fair, free democratic nation
The bahrain airport is closed now, seems I have to fly direct into saudi arabia, rather than flying into bahrain and then driving in to saudi. Damn rebels ruining my vacation!
[sp]I keed I keed, I support people fighting for personal freedom and such [/sp]
Dude wow. That Anti-tank thing is crazy/badass. Where did they get it though??
Still it seems batshit crazy whats going on there. I'm curious to know more about the police giving guns to youth. What do they want to do? Literally go kill the regime?
Jesus, this revolution is hardcore.
This revolution is hot! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010%E2%80%932011_Arab_world_protests
Seems like we're going to have a sequel.. Egyptian Revolution II: Unwashed Sins.
It almost seems like Mubarak isn't over yet, same shit is going on and apparently, State Security is still active. They're back monitoring internet traffic, and we can still sense their dirty fingers subliminally messing with minds again.
Shit has just started, and they're going down this time around.

No idea where they got it, they stormed a mercenary camp I think.
And yeah, they're going all in, treason and all.. I guess Gaddafi left them with not much of a choice.
The anti tank weapon looked like a SPG-9. But why would the military need a SPG-9 against protesters? Warheads with tear gas? Or rubber bullets?
So yea, the Chad military is being brought into the country as well as foreign mercenaries to kill Libyans. Live ammunition, anti-aircraft weapons, artillery, snipers, live ammo, and tanks are being used against them. They control around 4 major cities last I heard, but I've also heard that the military has taken back the second largest city.
In Bahrain I guess it's no better- the Saudis have been brought in to suppress them and there's live ammo being used.
What's the news from Iran?

According to We are All Khaled Alsaid on FB, a convoy of Egyptians is heading to Libya with medical supply. Let's hope they make it.
This thread needs to be renamed to "Arab Revolution Discussion Thread" now
I did confirm last night that Libya does have chemical weapons, and they never signed the CW treaty though they ratified it. If they use it, they could crush the revolution, whats your take on it?

Egypt: Big government seat changes after they got the news of calls for another multi-million march on Tuesday to topple the remains of the Mubarak-appointed government, some names from the old government survived the change though so we might just go out anyway.
In libya: Saif Aldin Gaddafi gave such an inspiring speech today, now everybody wants him dead. He literally said "you have two options: dialogue or a civil war, and we have the weapons".
He also blamed the revolution on thugs and foreign agents (mainly Egyptians and Tunisians) supplying the crowds with hallucinogens and drugs. :psyduck:
Apparently he's saying this in reference to the donations of medical supply trucks from the people of Alexandria and Cairo, those are being held by the Egyptian military and haven't even arrived at the Libyan borders yet AFAIK.
According to a Norwegian newspaper, there's 233 people killed in Libya.

Yeah, the number is a minimum, those are CONFIRMED deaths, and may not be the real number. :frown:
Also, watch Gaddafi's son as he spews out his nuggets of wisdom here:

Fuck yeah!! an eye witness said that the Libyan army refused to deploy into the city of Bin-Walid after protesters took full control of it. Coup imminent?
