If your going to use potential then protection is murder.
Not if there is never potential seeded. God dammit, I feel like I'm slamming my head into a wall. Once the fertilization occurs and succeeds then the potential is there. Before that you don't have potential. You have two ingredients that start the process.
If your going to use potential then protection is murder.
Not entirely true, since sperm on it's own will not become a child and only once a sperm has combined with an egg will it become a child.
If your going to use potential then protection is murder.
So a human baby might be born without sentience?
Not if there is never potential seeded. God dammit, I feel like I'm slamming my head into a wall. Once the fertilization occurs and succeeds then the potential is there. Before that you don't have potential. You have two ingredients that start the process.
what do you mean you have potential to create a child.
But technically the child is not her body, only inside it. It's like putting your new born child outside and leaving it to freeze to death because you feel you should have control over who lives in your house.
awful analogy, how the fuck is it like that?
Not entirely true, since sperm on it's own will not become a child and only once a sperm has combined with an egg will it become a child.
yes and thats what sex does when there isnt protection.
-snip-
awful analogy, how the fuck is it like that?
Because Zeke is saying a woman should be allowed to choose whether a child lives or dies based on ownership.
So a human baby might be born without sentience?
what no i was saying you are talking about potential. why cant potential be put into protected sex?
yes and thats what sex does when there isnt protection.
Exactly so if you wear protection, guess what happens? THERE IS NO POTENTIAL.
yes and thats what sex does when there isnt protection.
But if it's protected there is no chance of a child being conceived. Only once the two are combined is there a possibility of conception
Exactly so if you wear protection, guess what happens? THERE IS NO POTENTIAL.
the same can be said about abortion.
[editline]23rd December 2010[/editline]
both abortion and protection take away the potential for a child.
Because Zeke is saying a woman should be allowed to choose whether a child lives or dies based on ownership.
that's not what he was saying.
and stop acting like a moral guardian using the incorrect terminology, a fetus in the womb is not a child.
the same can be said about abortion.
No because there is potential because the child is growing into it. Jesus fucking christ, I'm done. I can't take this anymore.
the same can be said about abortion.
No it isn't since that fetus was on the way to becoming a child. Sperm alone will not become a child.
that's not what he was saying.
and stop acting like a moral guardian using the incorrect terminology, a fetus in the womb is not a child.
But its still human.
Hell this whole arguement stemmed from the fact Zeke said that women should be able to abort children up into the third trimester. If that's not a child.....
No it isn't since that fetus was on the way to becoming a child. Sperm alone will not become a child.
It will if there isnt a condom in the way to stop its way.
[editline]23rd December 2010[/editline]
No because there is potential because the child is growing into it. Jesus fucking christ, I'm done. I can't take this anymore.
yea and the sperm is going to go into an egg. either way you stop a child from being born. personally I say a law should be based on practicality instead of having to go though all this definition junk.
It will if there isnt a condom in the way to stop its way.
Fucking exactly so you eliminate the potential. You're restating what you've already said!
that's not what he was saying.
and stop acting like a moral guardian using the incorrect terminology, a fetus in the womb is not a child.
Well that entirely depends on perception. Many would say once a fetus has a functioning brain it is a child. Legal terminology varies from place to place.
Fucking exactly so you eliminate the potential. You're restating what you've already said!
by saying that you can say an abortion eliminates the potential for a child to be born properly.
It will if there isnt a condom in the way to stop its way.

Practicality is based on definitions. You need to define what something is and what its purpose is for it to be practical.
I'm all for women's rights to do what they want with their bodies but even abortions up to the third trimester seem a bit too far for me.
by saying that you can say an abortion eliminates the potential for a child to be born properly.
There is a difference between aborting something that is already there and not even starting.
Practicality is based on definitions. You need to define what something is and what its purpose is for it to be practical.
If abortion lowers crime, lowers birth rate and makes smarter children then its good. thats what im trying to say.
[editline]23rd December 2010[/editline]
There is a difference between aborting something that is already there and not even starting.
it has started as soon as the sperm ejaculated. either way human interference stops a child from being born.
by saying that you can say an abortion eliminates the potential for a child to be born properly.
A fetus is a definite child, sperm is only a potential child, most sperm die any way.
If abortion lowers crime, lowers birth rate and makes smarter children then its good. thats what im trying to say.
You do realize birth rates will lower naturally as we hit the peak of how many humans can live on Earth, right? Plus population growth is inevitable, its the only way to keep our species viable.
I'd say abortion is a better route than intentionally triggering miscarriages like friends of mine have done in the past, but then again 15 year old mothers are a great thing to keep in high supply
Because Zeke is saying a woman should be allowed to choose whether a child lives or dies based on ownership.
Let me know when you're done attacking strawmen so we can get back into the real argument
You do realize birth rates will lower naturally as we hit the peak of how many humans can live on Earth, right?
Ok then the limit for humans to have enough resources and not mess up the planet.
So hey carcarcargo, do you think that if a women miscarries after her fetus is "viable" she should be charged with manslaughter
