Probably /v/ being the fucktards they are and reporting it for nudity that came up for a split second.
-snip, explained in post above-

That's shit.
She improved incredibly and it gets removed.
Either this is a glitch or someone/some group of people managed to get this taken down for "violating the TOS". Ugh, see this is only succeeding in giving normal sane gamers a bad name. Whoever did this, your not helping your side of the argument and only end up supporting her side of the argument. You can disagree with her if you like, but don't use tactics like this, it's not respectfully arguing-it's silencing.
It's mostly because it breaks the "show, don't tell" rule of writing. You are rarely given a reason to care about those characters other than "she's your girlfriend/wife/mother/sister/daughter", effectively rendering the character a simple object or goal the (usually male) character has to take back.
Do you see the females in your life as "simple objects" then?
If the game tells me "she's your girlfriend/wife/mother/sister/daughter" I then feel responsible for saving them.

Tell that to her comments section... oh wait , it's disabled.
That was really good. The only thing that annoyed me was a clip from The Darkness listed as The Darkness II, but a typo isn't anything big.
Also, what? It got taken down?
Why was this taken down? Doesn't she own the channel it's posted on?
Youtube you need to stop with your shoot first, ask questions later bullshit.

Are you for real?
No, I don't, because they are real people who I've known my entire life, while video game characters need to be introduced, given motivations, traits, etc.
A character with none of the above simply isn't a character, it's a cheap plot device that's used when the writer is too lazy to come up with an interesting character for the player to care about.

why can't she save herself?
I saw it before this
This video has been removed because its content violated YouTube's Terms of Service.
Sorry about that.
I feel happy
why can't she save herself?
There's a load of reasons the person being captured can't save themselves and the person doing the rescuing is capable due to another load of reasons.
It's story, what matters if it's a bad story or a good story.
why can't she save herself?
because she's a woman duh :downs:
it's my responsibility as a man to save her
But really, this is one of the main problems with this trope, combined with lousy writing and shallow characters, it reinforces the notion that women are weak and it's up to men to save them, imposing an unfair standard for both sexes.
millions of dollars was needed to make this
praise murrica

Probably because every time she's had something where people could contact her, they've all verbally abused her and absolutely no discussion happened.

I'm pretty sure that the majority explanation behind "Why can't someone save themselves" is because it would mean there wouldn't be much of a game/story to begin with, and not "women are weak and it's a man's duty to save her." You see this trope with EVERY gender and race because if the person can save themselves then there's not much point to the story, is there?
I agree with many of the points Anita brings up (even if they are occasionally of the "Well duh" variety), but come on.

You could tell a story from the point of a woman who is captured, and then follow her escape from her captors
it got removed
good

why is this even a thing in the first place
was thousands of money really needed to stir up a bullshit dramatic discussion that will lead to nothing
this will change absolutely nothing, except her being able to buy more starbucks coffee. good job

I'm not saying that's what the game's telling you, or that it was the developer's intention, I'm saying that by choosing to use a cheap plot device like the Damsel in Distress trope you reinforce those notions. Like I said, it's not used out of malice or out of a desire to oppress women, but because it's an easy, cheap way to get the player involved and motivated.
Even then, just because there wouldn't be much of a story without it happening doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't be able to think of fun ways to play with the trope.
Maybe the hero is trying to rescue the damsel, only to find out that it's all a trick and she was the villain all along, or perhaps she attempts to rescue her only to find out she's perfectly capable of rescuing herself. I don't know, you can do a shitload of things with it.
Take Bioshock Infinite for example, everything points and tells you that Elizabeth is a helpless girl who needs to saved and she ends up being anything but.
why can't she save herself?
Obviously it's because she's a female and not because the main character is typically extremely strong, so everyone else would logically be weaker, especially since the main character is typically a good guy in some way, he's likely to convene with humans, who are weak.

Yea instead addressing a problem let's just not do it because the first step doesn't fix it immediately

a writer put the characters in those positions fyi this isn't real life if you didn't know
Yea instead addressing a problem let's just not do it because the first step doesn't fix it immediately
there is no problem to be fixed to begin with
there is no problem to be fixed to begin with
Really
why can't she save herself?
Well, then there would be no game?
Two parts of one episodes in over a year, why do people still support her?
Really
no, a real problem would be how shitty USA is and how people still die there because they can't afford hospital
this is some cunt wanting money and attention for a 'problem' that's blown out of proportion and is just really stupid
Two parts of one episodes in over a year, why do people still support her?
I was wondering when those posts would show up.
Who gives a shit? The videos are still being made and judging from how upset you get every time this comes up you clearly aren't interested in what she has to say. It doesn't matter one bit and all it does is derail the discussion.
If you're really this frustrated about a video series you don't care about for which you didn't spend money nor time on, then don't fucking post in a thread dedicated to it.
