If more people were to think like that technological progress would be so slow it isn't funny. It's spontaneous creativity and often unintentional suggestions that can make a world of difference if for no other reason then the various perspectives involved.

And yet still exists the possibility for any given person to randomly think of something that could prove to be of even a tiny significance solely because each and every one of us thinks uniquely.
