The Rebels started to win more and more as the Beta dragged on and the Rebels realised they'd lose if they just kept playing TDM instead of capturing the points. If you get more than 1 Y-wing per base then you'll be crumbling AT-AT's like nobodies business and the Empire couldn't really stop you.
more like people realized getting an orbital bombardment powerup meant an easy AT-AT kill.
What are you talking about, they put everything into this game. It has more detail then the last 2 battlefield game. All they've gone on about is how they love Star Wars. Plus they have 4 DLC packs planned that is more then 6 months.
The DLC is already done. DICE did not want to make this game, period. Marketing ads made at EA's behest do not represent the thoughts and feelings of the team.

DICE begged EA to make starwars battlefront.
Söderlund says he "didn't anticipate them wanting to work on a license -- they've always been new IP or their own IP. But they were just like, 'we would kill to make this game' and the whole studio started talking about it like, 'please give us this game.'
Again, marketing work and workload concerns are two vastly different things, especially for the people who won't be making five and six figure bonus checks.
I'm really hoping that they're implying Han Solo's special ability is literally just running super fast into enemies.
Can you actually customize and choose to play as Sullusts/Twi'leks or is it randomized? I didn't play the beta.
Can you actually customize and choose to play as Sullusts/Twi'leks or is it randomized? I think there is a character select/edit in the options menu but you couldn't use it during the beta.
Some people need to remember there was a lot of stuff locked behind doors that will give the full release that extra bit of fluff that it felt like it needed. I really enjoyed the beta. It had a fantastic atmosphere and it was just really fun being part of that atmosphere. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy shooting down piles of enemies with pin point accurate weapons.
you want a sim SWBF?
Yes. And I will get one. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=474473428
I want to get this but here is the reason why I wont. [t]http://horobox.co.uk/u/reag/2015-10-28_14-37-38.png[/t] Yeah, fuck off.
realistically speaking, could Han Solo even go toe to toe with Vader? I mean, wouldn't he just get choked out or something, or have all his shots deflected?
The DLC is already done. DICE did not want to make this game, period. Marketing ads made at EA's behest do not represent the thoughts and feelings of the team.
How do you know the DLC is done? So you work at DICE? Most of the time DLC isn't made until the main game is done. They may have started some of it already, but not in time to be included with the main release. All the weapons can be unlocked in normal progression, buying the deluxe or ultimate just unlocks them right away. The Deluxe and Ultimate are not worth any extra money from the standard.
I think this game will literally go the way of Titanfall. Playing the demo (hardly a beta) I can't see the gameplay lasting long with people. It is competent, but I don't think it can facilitate a big community for long after release.
Well I already know the gameplay is good, but I was hoping they'd fix the voice acting, it sounds awful.
please don't fuck it up please don't fuck it up
????Did you play the beta? It was absolute shit
What are you talking about, they put everything into this game. It has more detail then the last 2 battlefield game.
for a solid 5 hours, then it became difficult to muster up the energy to keep playing
Speak for yourself: I forgot to make it clear that I got this game a few days ago.
Speak for yourself:
15 hours for a $60/70 game isn't that great for return on a AAA multiplayer shooter. Still kinda indicates people don't care to play it often after it launched.
15 hours for a $60/70 game isn't that great for return on a AAA multiplayer shooter. Probably the best multiplayer shooter I've played since I ended the abusive relationship that is CSGO.
Speak for yourself:
I actually reinstalled Titanfall the other day and was disappointed to see only 750 people still playing

Titanfall isn't a bad game, but it hardly is worth a full retail price and the depth isn't that deep while still being enjoyable. Same feeling i'm getting from SWBF.
Looks great in the trailer but the beta seems dull and pretty much looks like shit.
How do you know the DLC is done? So you work at DICE? Most of the time DLC isn't made until the main game is done. The Deluxe and Ultimate are not worth any extra money from the standard.
Doesn't exactly matter when they want £95 for basically the base game and season pass, by the time the games released they'll likely introduce the premium bullshit like they've done with battlefield then introduce shortcut dlcs then various other stupid things. Hell the concept of the season pass alone blatently gives the hint that this game is gonna be DLC hell and knowing EA's pricing system, they wont be cheap, by the time you've got the standard edition and all the DLCs you'll have spent more than the Ultimate edition plus they'd have rebundled the game with all of them less than what you paid for in the first place eg. BF3 bundle drama after BF4 released. Either way, the Ultimate edition is more expensive than the most expensive BF4 pre-order bundle you could get to put it into comparison with a previous DICE/EA game, it absolutely screams fucking cash grab. Also from what I've played, this game isn't worth the price they are asking for even the standard edition, it gets stale very fast and fuck the whole power pickup system, its so bat shit retarded. While I enjoyed it and love the visuals, there's so much that stands out and just plain annoys me. Plus to add on this isn't Battlefront from the sense of gameplay, it lacks so much that made Battlefront what it is. What this is, is an excuse for DICE to make a Star Wars game. Personally I'd rather this was never made and the shitcanned Battlefront 3 was actually finished. Also no server browser, forced matchmaking system that has a tendency to get extremely biased towards one team, no autobalance ingame what so ever so you end up with teams of 16 vs 2. The game really does feel half arsed and rushed at times, while the visuals and sound are amazing the gameplay can feel really lackluster and the damn token pickup system is so fucking lazy. Where is the performance based Hero selection where the top player gets the option to go Hero, where are the vehicle spawns and randomised gun emplacements, hell they fucking shitcanned the class system, one of the major things that made battlefront what it is. Instead now you got this shoddy progressive unlock system that restricts you to a certain loadout type until you've managed to grind your way to unlock the supposed class setup you wanted, or just skip all that and break out your wallet for the other game editions and very likely upcoming dlc unlock shortcuts. Theres so much wrong and so little right with this game, I still want it like but I'm not going out of my way to even attempt breaking my wallet for what they are demanding.
But you see that is the point. Titanfall isn't a bad game, but it hardly is worth a full retail price and the depth isn't that deep while still being enjoyable. Same feeling i'm getting from SWBF.
Hmm, interesting, but in hindsight I'd have played £40 for Titanfall at release. Still, I'm normally in the consumer surplus (I'm willing to pay more than is being charged) because reasons.
a game people will only play because it's star wars, and will probably get bored quick because of a lack of depth. ill pass on this one.
I think this game will literally go the way of Titanfall. Playing the demo (hardly a beta) I can't see the gameplay lasting long with people. It is competent, but I don't think it can facilitate a big community for long after release.
Dude you are completey forgetting that 3 StarWars movies are on the way, with the 1st in 2 months, a month after BF3 release. Also Titanfall is an entirely new IP, Starwars is one of the most famous and globally known IPs. BF3 is gonna live a long as fuck time if anything.
The DLC is already done. DICE did not want to make this game, period. Marketing ads made at EA's behest do not represent the thoughts and feelings of the team.
let's actually go into detail about why this argument is partially right (which is why people feel so comfortable yelling about it), but still incredibly stupid The problem is, you don't have a team of identical programmers dumping equal amounts of code into a blender and when they've all filled it to the top, it's "done". Teams consist of writers, designers, artists, programmers, and more. At this point in time, the game has been effectively 'finished' for a while, and all of the time spent is going to be on the hands of the various programming teams to seek out bugs and edit/create features based on community feedback. So now you've got the visual content generators doing what? Sipping margaritas at their desks and playing their game nonstop while earning a full time paycheck? They start on new content. DLC, fancy new skins, expansion packs, the next game, whatever it is, they're on it because "things that will eventually earn the company money" is a valuable use of time while they're not useful for the wrap-up of the initial release. I'd rather see the creatives working on this content and earning their paychecks than having to look for work elsewhere, regardless of the publisher's shitty sales practices
a game people will only play because it's star wars, and will probably get bored quick because of a lack of depth. ill pass on this one.
I like the gunplay, more depth than Battlefield or CoD purely by removing the ADS system. I think people are confusing depth with limited unlockables and hating on this game entirely because it's Star Wars out of fear that people liking this game like it entirely because it's Star Wars. I personally found the movement and the gunplay refreshing.
Even with Star Wars branding, I'm still worried about the game's longevity. I mean, there doesn't seem like there's a lot of weapons, and the variations between them aren't too big. There's no weapon modding (which I'm fond of because putting red dot sights on an E11 would be crap), so weapon variety is a must, and this seems like it'll have even less than Titanfall. And as much as I loved Titanfall, thats a huge part of what killed it. And is the card system enough to carry it? Hard to say because we've only seen a small portion of them.
no, removing a completely different mode of aim doesn't contribute to it's complexity, only diminishes it. ads is in all the games now because its a cool distinction devs can make between hip and ads fire in terms of movement speed, fov, cone of fire, etc. some weapons get better attributes than others and can be more finely tuned with the addition of attachments. bfront gets rid of all of this still thinking people really only like this because its presentation is great and it's star wars.
I'll call Counter Strike and tell them they're doing competitive shooting wrong. Let's face it: ADS in games like CoD is simply having to hold 2 buttons rather than 1 button when you're shooting, it adds little depth outside of a superficial feeling of realism. It works in games like Insurgency that aim to be super realistic without compromising game mechanics, but in CoD it's just an one of the two trigger buttons.
I'm really hoping that they're implying Han Solo's special ability is literally just running super fast into enemies.
As far as i know, it's confirmed to be the case yes. He will also have a charge shot which can't be blocked by lightsabers + does a lot of damage to vehicles and infantry. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/10/20/star-wars-battlefront-leia-han-and-palpatine-join-the-battle/ This details a few of the heroes, Leia and Palpatine even have very interessting buffs to teammates spawning nearby.
