Why does everyone say there's no benefit to ADS? My friend and I tested it multiple times during beta and it tightens certain weapon spreads, in addition to zooming.
Dude you are completey forgetting that 3 StarWars movies are on the way, with the 1st in 2 months, a month after BF3 release.
Also Titanfall is an entirely new IP, Starwars is one of the most famous and globally known IPs.
BF3 is gonna live a long as fuck time if anything.
I really doubt that. There is no way a playerbase can be sustained on a game that feels like Doom-arena mode (Yes even with the big Walker assault mode) with a Star Wars skin on it that has no mod support. Releasing this beta/demo was a mistake in my opinion because once you get past "it's Star Wars" most people immediately dropped it. It convinced me and quite a few others it seems on the fence to get this game that it isn't worth a initial release.
That same Star Wars factor is what handicapped this game imo. DICE knew it had to do bare minimum and just made it look good.
There won't even be a competitive hardcore demographic seeing how they totally fucked the balance imo. I have never seen such shitty spawn placement in a game before.
Think this game will be big on console but die soon on PC like Battlefield Hardline did.
15 hours for a $60/70 game isn't that great for return on a AAA multiplayer shooter. Still kinda indicates people don't care to play it often after it launched.
this was as far as I got before the community pretty much died. I'm sort of worried the same thing will happen to battlefront

And you see 143 hours is impressive for that game, but I expect the average game time spent for TF is overall low.
I like the gunplay, more depth than Battlefield or CoD purely by removing the ADS system. I think people are confusing depth with limited unlockables and hating on this game entirely because it's Star Wars out of fear that people liking this game like it entirely because it's Star Wars. I personally found the movement and the gunplay refreshing.
not more depth when everything is literally laser pointers. csgo adds a layer of depth because of recoil patterns and the like. star wars doesn't have this, so it just decreases the possible depth. (plus theres sights for most guns, so that doesn't really matter)
The gunplay in third person feels like a Splatoon but big boy edition since you can lob lasers at ultra accuracy from hipfire.
????Did you play the beta?
It was absolute shit
Nah it was great.
Nah it was great.
Great is an arguable reach, but I definitely enjoyed it and don't think it deserves the level of hate that it's getting.
I spent 20 hours on the beta alone so I think I'll get my moneys worth. I agree with a lot of the criticism but maybe I just value the immersion factor a lot more than most. I love participating in epic battles like these.
So are the alien rebels supposed to be part of the character customization that was locked in the beta? Do we know if stormtroopers can be customized too?
Do we know if stormtroopers can be customized too?
All we know right now is that we can change the gender. Not sure what else.
If I were to the guess you might be able to change the armour. But I don't think you will be able to change any colours or anything silly like that.
Vader is scary man.
Say what you want about the gameplay, but nobody beats dice at the audio/visual side of video games.
you can't really fuck up the iconic sounds and effects as we already know what they're meant to look and sound like. They're not original assets.
Its a good star wars game, but its no battlefront.
The essence of Battlefront was large vehicular combat with massive maps, which this game lacks.
It feels more like Call of Duty with a star wars mod really.

I agree its doesn't feel like Battlefront, but it feels even less like CoD.
tbh regardless of the games shortcomings the game doesn't feel at all like cod, and even less like Doom Arena like someone said earlier (I guess it has powerups?)
I'd buy the shit out of it if it wasn't $60
The beta was not bad, but all I've got right now is an Xbox one so I'm just gonna pass on sw:bf until I can afford a decent pc
See, it LOOKS awesome in the trailers... But from what I've seen of the beta gameplay it looks underwhelming and arcadey.
Modern Battlefields in a nutshell.

Well they got all their material from LucasFilm.

Sure all Star Wars games have the movies to base their appearance on, but to be fair no other Star Wars game has nailed the look and feel this well.
It's hard to fuck up, and they all do reasonably good facsimiles, but that doesn't mean this doesn't do it fantastically.
They also went to the lucasfilm archive and took photos/scans or whatever of the physical models and costumes for reference.

Is Sam Witwer voicing Palpatine again? It sure seems like it. His Palpatine voice is really distinct.
