Ok, so today I went into my town to buy the new Batman game, and rushed back to the bus station trying to catch the soonest bus, instead i missed it and was there for nearly half an hour and near ish the end, an old lady sat on the bench a few seats from me start like slipping of her chair while her arms looked kind of locked, at first i stared a little and realised somthing was wrong, i looked around and other people were doing the same.. kind of. i walked quickly over to her but then some security, i think it was, pushed me out the way and checked her pulse i wanted to help but with them there they probably knew more than me, and while they were doing that i took another glance around and i saw people actualy looking at her and laughing. And not one other person (oh sorry there was another guy in his twentys) that came over they just looked, some of them laughed and then continued to mindlessly stare at the parking lot for their buses. now i knew people were shallow but this? this was somthing else. Out of a room filled with roughly 60 people 2 of use walked over. And right now all i keep going over in my head is that i should have got up straight away, and can't keep myself from knowing that those other people probably wouldnt have even considered it.
Congratulations. You aren't a complete asshole. Boy you people are really quick to jump onto that bad spelling button.
Actually, people don't just laugh because something is funny. They laugh to communicate with each other, so they clearly were not laughing at the old lady. Don't expect sixty-plus people to go and help when I single person has a seizure, two people probably seemed like enough.
when we were just standing there looking at her the other guy on his phone? (to 999) my bet is at least, at least ONE PERSON in that room must have know cpr all the guards did was put here in the recovery position this was around 12-30 ish. chavs were hibernating
your all suprised? SERIOUSLY? JESUS FP I THOUGHT YOU WERE INTELLIGENT
stab some of the people laughing and start laughing at them.
your all suprised? SERIOUSLY? JESUS FP I THOUGHT YOU WERE INTELLIGENT
The guy who doesn't understand basic grammar is accusing us of being stupid.
You cynical cool cat you
The guy who doesn't understand basic grammar is accusing us of being stupid.
Because your skill in English is a direct representation of your intelligence, right?
Yeah, to be totally honest, this thread is a little too cynical. It's as if you're deciding all humanity is completely fucked (apart from you and that other dude) because of one random occurrence. I think your reaction to the situation would have been much different if you were with your mates.
yeah its minted played it for like nearly 12 hours straight and only 40% done.. off topic much?
Not really, you said you went out to get a batman game, I assume thats the main topic.
huh
People don't know how to react - Should I do something? What if I do something wrong? Oh God, what if she thinks I'm trying to mug her? - so on the whole, they wait nervously for someone else to do something. Two of the main reactions to nervousness are laughing and ignoring the elephant in the room. They're dicks, but not as much as you initially assumed.
The only people that keel over and help are the ones who misplaced their First Aid and Lifesaving certificates or have them expired in their wallets Always
I probably would of laughed but not because I would think it is funny but I laugh when in high stress or in an awkward scene, it kinda alleviates me.

Poor lady, so she died? Humanity is all fucked up, laughing as shes near death, FUCK YOU HUMANOIDS!
Poor lady, so she died? Humanity is all fucked up, laughing as shes near death, FUCK YOU HUMANOIDS!
i dont know, the paramedics took her away with an oxygen mask so i assume she was alive when they drove off, i couldnt say now :|
actually i think it's highly fucking annoying when people gather around people that fell down or whatever, blocking the fucking walkway but also annoying the person in question AND the people helping. Sure pretending nothing happens is bad. Just feel bad and continue whatever you was doing. Pisses me of really badly when people act like they see something they will only see once in their life.

Unless you're a trained professional, you should go and get help not stand there
Where do you live? I'm coming down there to beat on those mother fuckers.
Fucking Christ..
Took a class on helping people in situations like that, got my little Red Cross card here. I would have helped, humanity will always be fucked up, the internet has proof of it EVERYWHERE.

what.. they were laughing at a lady slipping off her chair? I'm guessing there was probably some streaker running around ass naked or something and you were too fixed on that lady
I didn't see anything humorous in what was happening to her. I just didn't get it.
I don't get it. She was falling off her chair but her arms were locked? A security guard pushed you away and checked her pulse? Was she dead or falling asleep? Were they laughing at her or at your hilarious new haircut?

But what you should remember from this is that you DID try to help. Hang on to that. It means something.
1 person did something bad, hurp de durp humanity is so gay, hurp hurp. Kill yourself then if you hate it so much. (User was permabanned for this post ("Trolle" - TH89))
