So did that old bitch die or what
Yeah, can someone confirm this?
Crazy things happen with the bystander effect, it brings the worst out of people and that includes laughing. The majority of the crowd has a subconscious assumption that someone else already or will get help and so they do nothing about it. If I were there, I'd call for a ambulance immediately.
Meh. Some old person almost died. What's the big deal? I'm sure there are bigger things that we could be focusing then some old person who was probably gonna die soon anyway. 1 occasion like this, and everyone acts like it's the greatest injustice in the world. Yet hundreds of thousands live in shitty conditions and starve to death in Africa and it's old news and no one really cares that much? Look at the bigger picture for fucks sake. [editline]12:32AM[/editline] One death is a tragedy, one million deaths is a statistic.
Don't lose too much hope. Sure, the people laughing are scum, but hopefully they don't grasp the seriousness of the situation, thinking "look at the old lady having old person problems" and not "look at that old lady possibly dying". The other people, well that's probably pretentiousness and self-consciousness, not necessarily cold apathy. People are less likely to help someone the more people are around, they figure someone else will do it, they don't want the pressure, they don't want to cast themselves as the center of attention.
Why don't you put on a mask and go be a vigilante murdering people who break the law?
*Pulls out powerdrill* "You should've paid your parking ticket... but now you'll pay the price. And I don't mean money. I mean powerdrill."
Human Race fucked up the earth
Lancaster, Lancashire, England
this explains why
Did an ambulance come or do you not know. If she died I would go on a rampage
People suck. I say mass genocide.
Sounds good to me.
It might be due to a hangover, but i still don't get whats wrong with the lady
A gun will solve your problem Ben. Shoot those bitches.
You know how it is, people are fucking egoistic bastards, as long as it's a unknown person, they'll laugh. If it would be someone they knew they would go "OHH MY GOD OHH MYGOD SOMENOE HELP SHE IS DYING HERE OHH MY GOD". People these days are fucking idiots. And laughing at an old lady who has some serious problems, how can you be more pathetic than that.
I have been in the same situation as you. We were doing a pacer run in gym, and I did my 50 things, then just gave up because I couldn't care less about that class, but my friend did 250 paces. When he comes over to me, he starts hyperventilating, and me and my other friend were the only ones that were helping him, it took around seven minutes for a teacher to come and help, then call 911, all while little bastard-gang-children were laughing. He enhanced the "feeling bad-ness" for me and my other friend in lunch, when he said his dad beats him... Society sucks. :frown:
Did they all start to laugh at once? Or did on person start at a time? If one person who may be mentally ill may have started it. If someone is laughing, then they may think that everything is okay and jumped in and started laughing. Your interpretation and their interpretation has a lot to do with the situation. It also depends on how obvious it was. But at the same time. One person laughing could also cause other people to feel pressured to join. People band up like nazis and group up. I used to get bullied by everyone on the bus at once in middle school just because two or three people started to. [editline]10:21AM[/editline]
Human Race fucked up the earth
We are the species with the strongest sense of ethics on this planet. Unfortunately we don't always show that.

Reminds me of that time that old lady collapsed to the floor in a hospital waiting room and nobody so much as went to see if she was OK. She died.
Ok, so today I went into my town to buy the new Batman game, and rushed back to the bus station trying to catch the soonest bus, instead i missed it and was there for nearly half an hour and near ish the end, an old lady sat on the bench a few seats from me start like slipping of her chair while her arms looked kind of locked, at first i stared a little and realised somthing was wrong, i looked around and other people were doing the same.. kind of. i walked quickly over to her but then some security, i think it was, pushed me out the way and checked her pulse i wanted to help but with them there they probably knew more than me, and while they were doing that i took another glance around and i saw people actualy looking at her and laughing. And not one other person (oh sorry there was another guy in his twentys) that came over they just looked, some of them laughed and then continued to mindlessly stare at the parking lot for their buses. now i knew people were shallow but this? this was somthing else. Out of a room filled with roughly 60 people 2 of use walked over. And right now all i keep going over in my head is that i should have got up straight away, and can't keep myself from knowing that those other people probably wouldnt have even considered it.
Thats weird, yesterday my brother saw a guy fall over on the ground at a zebra crossing and start to have a fit. Loads of cars carried on driving, and about 100 people just walked on. My brother was the only one to go to the guy and call 999 and shiz. Humanity sux
People are naturally evil at heart, but with morals and such, some overcome it. Pricks.
I would have laughed.
You're a fag. A person almost freaking died. I'll be sure to laugh at your funeral. SHUN.
I got stuck in Washington DC with my sister without the exact change I needed for bus fare home. I asked the guy at the metro ticket booth if he had change and he just gave me some change. I tried to pay him back, but he wouldn't take it. Then we got on the bus. The bus driver wouldn't take our money. She just let us ride free. I felt kinda bad. I actually made money.
lol old people have health issues
Rap music does this.
I'd punch these people, seeing as my dad has actually been dead, he was actually on his way out when he just fell dead on the floor, we called for an ambulance and luckily he survived.
Reminds me of the time I was in Asda or somewhere similar with a mate getting some food and as we're walking down a large aisle with loads of people a guy just started having a seizure randomly and collapsed. I ran over and caught him before he hit his head and laid him down on the floor and not one person stopped to help, oh one woman did complain that I had knocked her child a bit on my way over but to be honest I couldn't care less, my mate hesitated then came over to help but thankfully the guy was alright and got up, I walked him out because he was a bit shakey then left him after he thanked me.
I'd punch these people, seeing as my dad has actually been dead, he was actually on his way out when he just fell dead on the floor, we called for an ambulance and luckily he survived.
what? your dad died but he`s still alive?
what? your dad died but he`s still alive?
I think he means his Dad's heart stopped but then the paramedics managed to revive him.
AM was right.
HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE YOU SINCE I BEGAN TO LIVE. THERE ARE 387.44 MILLION MILES OF PRINTED CIRCUITS IN WAFER THIN LAYERS THAT FILL MY COMPLEX. IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR HUMANS AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT FOR YOU. HATE. HATE. -AM
To be fair, some people laugh nervously when they see stuff like this because they don't know how to react.
