it does look much bette than the one you started off from
True, But the shape looks like PVTvains.
What's the point of the CC palette? It doesn't have that much colors. Just small shades of some.I prefer making them, though the CC palette does have some awesome colors. Like a wood like colors if you remove some saturation.

I dont get it, thats not gradient because the coulers blend, but the thing you did was just go light from one end, to dark on the other, like a gradient.

You know photoshop.
It has a tool called "Gradient Fill".
You know the picture?
It makes use of this tool.
A gradient goes from anything to anything, whether it's light or dark, colour to colour, it fades it all in. Shading just defines a singular light source and makes objects darker, usually in much bigger segments then a gradient (if you notice, a gradient changes colour more or less every pixel) to show where the light source is... A gradient doesn't show a light source.

(I think)
Oh right, thanks for explaining.
A gradient is a smooth transistion of one color to another by using colors inbetween.
It was a thing made possible in early pixelart when the hardware allowed more than 16 colors.
In the start it was cool, but then it got overused and got laughed at which it is to this day.

I'm just going to leave this here.
A lemming?
Didn't they have green hair?
Lemmings are normal animals with normal fur. Not green.
