Lol Yusk, if you do make a new army least you have an idea :P
New to the pixel art thing, but I think I'm getting the hang of it(slowly). Any advice for basic poses? Tim the miner does have two arms, I tried to show the placement of his arms with different colors, the right one being a lighter color. Sorry if it's too big. Map by Recon.
Tech kills self. Ok, going to attempt to be positive as not to piss off elf. His legs are too long, his body should be as big as his legs. He needs hands, use a set of colours. Like his hat though. At least you didn't use a template :v:
So, your already better than a whole group of people!
Yeah, after going through a dead forum and looking at some other people's things, I found a corner of a cave and just started making the miner. The little sheet with him waving was done after my little guy was created. Still trying to get the color system in ms paint to be nice. The only way I'm copying somebody else is by measuring their people, unless subconciously I'm stealing things, and if so I'm sorry. Feel free to be negative.
Tentacles are hard to get right without looking failureistic
Post em' and let me see.
I always draw a 25pixel rule, then you vary around that. If it's a giant sure it's bigger, if it's a dwarf it's smaller, but that's the size I like to keep to personally. Also, try to make the face less like a block, and give him a 3/4 faced view.
My Very crappy tentacle
Black outline = remove. Shading = must on small object. Needs different colour variation. :v:
3/4 face view as in, the one of him on the far left? Yeah, I regretting him not make a pixel wider in each direction. Part way through on various bits I regret not increasing the raidus so I could add some detail. As for shading, (which I don't plan to put in my drawings for a while)when going down the color scale (I'm using ms paint), I get my base color then hit "add" and the little crosshair jumps to a different corner, so I can't exactly just slide that little bar down. Any tricks?
Personally i think the shape of the tentacle looks weird
Add slime, get rid of the black outline.
(@credesniper) And as for that tentacle, you have just made it a continuous width, with no real shape.
I wouldnt know how to add slime but i'll try make it look better [editline]06:29PM[/editline] I cant seem to make a very good shape i'll keep trying
Quick question. I'm trying to make a container of water, how would I go about making the container, like the outer rim. Should it be lighter or darker than the water? I'm having trouble. [editline]01:32PM[/editline] It's bulletproof glass, if that matters.

Yuskolov, I know about that little slidy bar and that's what I use, but with slight frustration. After find my base color, I click "add to custom colors" and then that little crosshair snaps off to somewhere else, so it's difficult to find the right color again, and then move the slider.
Elf;22582841']Have like glass, then fill the inside water?
I know, well, I'll just make it and you tell me what you think about it. I was asking mainly the colors of the glass and the water. Hold on.

To rex and cred Don't use pure black
Like, how is that? The light blue being glass, the inside is water. I'm having trouble. :P [editline]01:47PM[/editline] I tried three-tone. Like, the glass is thicker on the edges cause there is less water in the middle, and then there is some near the edges, and then the rest is too minimal to do correctly. Well. I don't know, give me CC. :P
Hmmm, Tentacles = Epic?
If you're talking to me those aren't tentacles. [editline]01:54PM[/editline] It's a walker. With an aquarium on top. :P
I know im saying Tentacles make everying work for my army using the Alive corpses of others troops to create more troops :P [editline]07:03PM[/editline] I wish there was one big pallet sheet so you didnt have to search for loads of colours
Make the glass the blue colour, but make the water more of a water colour? :v: Hard to explain.. try taking water colours from maps.
Does anyone know of a giant pallet for paint? so we dont have to search tirelessly for diffrent shades?

Just find your base colour and use the slider on the side
Heres what i do Get the colour you want At the top bar click colors then edit colors and there ya go Move it as you like Simples
I guessed its not hard but it makes life a hell of a lot easier
