My childhood? Well it was my dad and mom fighting almost constantly and being shit poor most of the time. Things have gotten worse.

I remembered when I was little I kept taking rocks and throwing it at ducks, ahhh good times.

Also, my childhood was mostly Legos and Hotwheels. We had this huge fort thing outside we'd climb on top of and set up a giant track running across it and send Hotwheels down. I love that game Stunt Track Driver, too.

Ended when I saw my first snuff film when I was 10, however before that it was nice.

Only thing I can relate to in the OP is thinking I'd run faster with new shoes. My parents are an odd couple, rather than playing Mario and Zelda when I was a kid (Even if I do play Zelda now) I'd be playing my Dad's Quake and listening to my Mom's Rob Zombie when I was five.
