I really couldn't make out what Copley was saying 85% of the time
AV ALWEES WANTED A WAIF Seriously though it wasn't bad at all. If you could understand him in D9 you should be able to in Elysium. The only difference was he was better spoken in D9 for the most part.
Elysium's story was dumb. [sp]Matt Damon needs to get to Elysium He really needs to get to Elysium He's almost to Elysium! He got to Elysium The End.[/sp]

Elysium would function better as a game, Gone Home better as a movie etc
I love how it's not just "AI can be made but at what cost???" and instead is a celebration of what AI can actually give us. We have way too many movies and media where they pretend to explore the problems with AI like its some new thing, but it's so overdone. We need more "Johnny 5 is alive!" in our lives and this seems to be giving this to us (minus the ham.)
Yolandi would be so attractive with normal hair.
This is lower budget and he's been planning this for years. Also he's not making the film as if it were a video game, which he himself admitted is what he did with Elysium.
That doesn't mean much. His word doesn't really mean shit either. My money is in on this movie being "meh" again. He's an amazing computer graphics artist, but seemingly not too good of a director. Having a low budget doesn't really mean much, it's more about him not letting things go too far over his head and making sure things like the script, storyboard, and editing are more cohesive and solid this time. And the concept for this movie seems like it's kind of been done before a few times, especially in sci-fi novels. District 9 stood out because I can't really even think of anything that mixes aliens + apartheid. And Elysium was just generic.

Even Transcendence was in the end despite it making no sense for them to go that way. It's about time someone did a movie like this again and tried to instill hope in AI tech.
Matt Damon Brings Universal Healthcare To Planet Mexico.
That was something that really bothered me about Elysium. The people on Elysium have this technomagical cure-all that doesn't seem to require any resources other than energy to operate, which they could use to ensure that the people working for them on Earth would at least be healthy and therefor happier to be in their position (which, granted, wouldn't be saying much), and yet they keep it all to themselves for no apparent reason other than to be gigantic space-dicks.

What you said is a positive outlook on the movie, but I still am wary about it's execution as a film.
Hugh Jackman is using that weird interview accent.
casting says sigourney weaver is in this too cool
i cant wait for her 4 minute cameo where she dies shortly after like every other recent sigourney weaver role in major movies
The choice of cast is very smart. I will be watching this.
Neil and Ninja/Yolandi have been friends since absolutely forever. This is either sourceless bullshit or a big joke put out by Neil and DA. Baring in mind the way DA look and act are just a face, not how they really are.
Definitely this, seems like a way for them to get people talking about the film, why would Blomkamp put their album name on the side of Chappie's head if they were being cunts
Potentially good news; I just noticed that Blomkamp's wife, Terri Tatchell is on the writer seat again. She is writer by occupation and helped with D9, Elysium however was 100% Blomkamp writing. Double toasted (ex spill.com guys) did a great trailer review:
Yolandi would be so attractive with normal hair.
She is. I don't really know how I feel about them being in the movie to be honest. I like them, and I like their music, but it just doesn't seem to fit the tone at all. Also, while I agree that Elysium wasn't some 10/10 masterpiece of cinema, and relied a lot on tropes and cliches of the science fiction genre, it was by no means the pile of shit some of you are making it out to be. It was definitely a decent movie on its own.
