If only we could have rings that would not kill us or mess stuff up. :<
That would be fucking amazing
I read the title and thought lord of the rings... But this is cooler, thanks.
Every time I hear that song I go back to play Hitman :buddy: [editline]09:12PM[/editline] Holy shit this is amazing.
Same dude, also this is cool! Looks amazing.
I bet the planet with rings wishes it had a moon. :colbert:
Saturn has sixty-two moons, and hundreds of moonlets within it's rings. I think Saturn is plenty satisfied.
Every religion on earth would be different, that's for sure. [editline]04:38AM[/editline] The Earth is poor and Irish :saddowns:
So THAT'S where i've heard this song. on-topic: This is beautiful, now i wish earth had a ring .
it does, when the moon collided with earth it created a ring around it, which is till there today, nothing like it was but still slightly there if we had rings like saturn then life would not exist as we know it, constant meteor showers and sunlight blockage would wreck the ecosystem
Fuck i love that game so much I could fucking marry it.
I love Hitman too, but the music doesn't really suit the video
that would be beautiful! to think that there might sometimes be mini nights, lasting for an hour or two, when the huge ring is in front of the sun!
lol it would make being lost at sea so much easier
Kind of reminds me of the sky views in Halo on the Rings.
I want one :ohdear:
I want one :ohdear:
Nothing personal, but whenever I see your avatar I feel the need to punch something.
Oh my! I want visible rings, now!
That would be so bitchen!
Despite the world being insanely unique and very special, i find it to be quite boring. Rings would really spice things up!
What if the earth had a double rainbow :v:
We have Debris rings around earth, of course they're nothing like this. Well there you go, Earth does have rings.
I wish it did.
Dare i do it, i think i will. Thread music... fixed the embedding
This is awesome.
Wait, flaw in the shopping, at night, only part of the rings should be lit up, because a lot of it would be in the shadow cast by the earth.
Glad the UK faces pretty much away from the rings, some parts of South America would have very short days and cold.
Glad the UK faces pretty much away from the rings, some parts of South America would have very short days and cold.
The shadow cast by the rings would move with the seasons.
If we already had rings we'd be wishing we didn't have them. Just sayin'
There's some evidence we may have had some small rings in the far past, but nothing definitive. This video was nice, but it didn't explain the actual effects. The night sky would be lit up a whole lot more, as you'd have something that, to us, would be like 7 times the size of the moon reflecting light back. If the moon can light up as much as it does, imagine the rings- there would never be total dark. Except for everything in their shadow, which would have large periods of darkness, nearly complete darkness. This would make typically warmer areas very cold, ruin faming seasons, and would have prevented the formation of alot of life. Australia, your diverse group of dangerous creatures would not exist. You'd end up with some penguins and shrimp or something. We'd constantly be bombarded with small meteors, nothing that would break through the atmosphere, but it may affect our flight plans. And satellites- pft, forget about those. With how fragile they are, they wouldn't last two seconds in LEO with those rings spreading shit completely around our planet. Space shuttles would have issues, anything leaving the planet, say, to the moon, or probes, would have to go through shit. Hubble wouldn't get shit done even if it could stay up there- the uncountable amounts of small particles of dust and sometimes larger particles of rock and such would prevent clear imaging of alot, no matter what radiation or light it's analyzing. But other than that it would be cool.
If the earth had rings, comets would break off from the ring's gravitational field and decimate the world's cities.
Exactly what I thought. We would need better reinforcement for the buildings, incase a rock decided to drop by.And I mean MUCH BETTER.
Late but great.
Wow. Now I wish Earth had rings.
