And soon when future and modern warfare gets boring again we will get an really nice WW2 setting with the frostbite engine 4 and that's the day I wish for.
Battlefield WW2 - it will sell like toilet paper.

~so arcade~
there were a couple other games that did this but I can't remember their names
though pistols are usually nerfed to hell if they have inf. ammo.

Rainbow six Vegas 2 had pistols with infinite ammo, and they were pretty useful to be honest.
So do I need BF3 to play this or is it like a stand alone expansion?

tbh that's more of a statement about how fucked up R6 became rather then about game mechanics but w/e

course they're right next to alfa in promotional materials and poles get pissed over that.
then again...
the asian in that same lineup was the shortest guy

I certainly won't argue with you there. R6V2 is a fun game but it really isn't the tactical shooter the previous games once were. But on the subject of MoH Warfighter, I don't see anything wrong with SOME additions of more arcadey mechanics, such as the handguns with infinite ammo, some people like using them.

I suppose but yeah... they probably won't be that effective considering arcade = weak pistols

BUT weak pistols usually fire as fast as you can pull the trigger, so in close quarters it'd be pretty handy to have. Not to mention headshots are usually instant kills regardless.
I still don't understand how the Sayeret Matkal or Shayetet 13 aren't in the game considering they are easily in the top 3 of special forces.
Yet USA gets three units in this game while every other country only gets one. But still, at least Russia isn't the bad guy for once and I get to play as my home country in a major video game that doesn't suck.
They did pretty much get the entire international tier one community though. Pretty much the only units they're missing are Sayeret, MARSOC and Col Moschin.

what about the Dutch KCT, French BFST, Danish units, Spanish units (cba to look it up), and other european nations?
afaik they're similar
hey
hey get this
we're gonna take the engine dice used to make a modern day shooter
and
bear with me a second
use it to make a modern day shooter
I played this quite a bit at Dreamhack 2012. They had a bunch of computers set up. I was pleasantly surprised at how different it feels compared to Battlefield/COD. Not sure what other modes there are but the one I played had like 8-12 players and you were paired up with another guy as your "buddy".
I really like close quarters, arcade-esque shooters, so I'd probably prefer this over Battlefield.
I mean, I get the enjoyment with huge maps and such, but personally I've just enjoyed quick, fast engagements similar to Quake, TF2, CoD (I guess), etc.
Not enough particle effects, I could still see part of the screen
I unno, it looked kinda fun. I might pick it up if it goes on sale
Yea well, now show us some Singleplayer gameplay. It's probably as shitty as it was in MoH 2010...
The only thing these guys can advertise and make money with is the multiplayer - made by DICE of course.
EDIT: Oh sorry, I just looked it up and noticed that DICE is not gonna make the multiplayer in this one. Too bad...

SOG has an AK5, instant buy
At least it would be if it wasn't the one we stopped using in 2009 or something
Wasn't the 2010 MoH about realism though? This video just dumps that right out the window.

The singleplayer kiiiiiinda was, not the multiplayer though.

Oh cool. FSK/HJK is there.
Looks like a horribly generic FPS about Modern War, let me guess, the story will be about the United States pinned in a conflict against Russia.
modern tactical shooters or: How I Manage to Keep Buying The Same Game

It's not realism like ARMAII does it, but more along the lines of telling a proper story on what actually happens with special forces groups, instead of gung-ho rambo's shooting down helicopters with a handgun like in call of duty. The multiplayer though tossed everything the window, wasn't even similar to the SP, or even on the same engine.
Hey, look on the bright side! Maybe with Medal of Honor trying to take a piece of the CoD pie, maybe EA will let DICE make the next Battlefield focus more on its core audience instead of trying to cater it to both and failing like last time!
One can dream...
Having viewed the title mentioned video I have come to the conclusion that... It looks ok at least.
Also if they have the French Foreign Legion and the Brigade of Gurkhas I'll be happier.
