So if it wasn't for russia, we would all be speaking german as of now.
I have to disagree. With time, the rest of the Allies could have defeated Germany but it would have been a bloody and devastating war.
I am very uneducated in how World War II happened, but I do know that Fat Man and Little Boy contributed to the end of it.

you are wrong!!! if russia didn't contribute to the allies in ww2 the war would have been alot longer and the germans were building nuclear bombs. so it would be an easy victory for the germans.
This was fun to read, gonna go play some bc2

The Germans weren't even close to nuclear bombs, and now that you mention it I just realized that if the Soviets had been stalled for another month or two Berlin probably would have been nuked by the U.S.

I doubt they wouldve nuked berlin, but the nuke may have been used. I dont think the US was racist enough against the germans as we were against the japanese to use a nuke on a major population center
I'll share some WW II insight of mine. I think the US won mostly because we are protected by vast oceans and have plenty of natural resources. We can build thousands of bombers in factories that the Nazis cannot touch. The Nazis didn't have a long range bombing capability. The US could use all sorts of European nations, primarily Britain and France as a base. From these bases, we could bomb the heck out of nearby Germany. We could destroy their industrial capability and by doing so, bring the Nazi war machine to a halt. Nazi Germany couldn't do much as seeing it's small, land locked country. It can't get the steel or oil it needed.
So Europe was in ruins and America left perfectly fine and ready to inherit the earth for decades to come.

you're an idiot. do you even know how the US got a hold of nuclear weapons? german scientists exchanged their information for safety.
read this, hopefully it will teach you something.

america doing what they do best. stealing from other countries.
Hitler pretty much guaranteed the demise of the third reich by going on a temper tantrum and throwing his entire air-force at England. (England was hurt, but the Luftwaffe was almost obliterated) The luftwaffe was exhausted and never recovered from the aerial Battle of Britain. That, and he decided on a late invasion of Russia because he was impatient (stupid)
Oh, and his Italian allies were being absolutely worthless in North Africa and Hitler had to divert part of his forces as well as one of his smartest generals (Erwin Rommel) there to kick out the British
Lol "British intelligence"
"Hey make sure to squeeze us in!"
Intelligence is the basis of every single military operation ever. I'd say it's pretty important.
Not to mention the fact that the UK was an essential staging ground for the invasion of Normandy.
pretty much after the blitzkrieg, hitler became a shitty military commander, end of
America and Russia won World War II for the most part.
France and Britain were on the winning team as well, but they didn't gain as much recognition because they were clinging for survival for most of the war.
Germany, Italy, and Japan were on the loser's side.
And then shortly after America and Russia entered the Cold War.
wow do you even know how ww2 unfolded
wow do you even know how ww2 unfolded
um
the way that GeneralSanchez phrased it is kinda broad and general but its more or less what happened
i won world war 2
wow do you even know how ww2 unfolded
I may be an idiot but I think it was the Allies winning.
And the allies were kinda Britain, America, and the Soviet Union.
And after WWII the iron curtain fell and America lead the west block and Russia lead the communist block.
Which is exactly what I said.
So if I'm wrong, I'm listening.

Yeah, I guess I was kinda vague, but the way Ashzu said it I thought I posted misinformation. or something.
what mostly bugs me about the teaching of WWII in classrooms is how fucking biased the source material usually is
when talking about war crimes and such, all that is ever mentioned is the holocaust perpetrated by nazi germany. they demonize germany to the point that they imply every german citizen knew exactly what was happening and didn't do a thing to stop the holocaust (and even if they did know, hitler was at such a level of power that anyone who spoke out against it all would have been branded a traitor to the reich and executed) hell, i'm not saying that the holocaust wasn't bad, but japan and the soviet union did shit just as bad if not worse
they fail to point out that a large majority of SS members who participated in the holocaust only did so because they were following orders, which if they failed to do so, they'd be executed to. again, the source material simply demonizes germans
those sources almost talk about the millions of people that stalin had executed, the slaughter and experimentation on the chinese by the japanese, nor the war crimes committed by the united states OR england (sparse as they were)
the probable fact is, if hitler hadn't rose to power, someone else would have. there were so many dictators rising to power at the same time, conflict would have arisen almost anywhere (this includes the beginning of a spanish dictatorship by francisco franco, benito mussolini's fascist dictatorship, hideki tojo's office as prime minister [not explicitly a dictatorship, but pretty much one]) hell, the only real reason that italy and japan were quick to get behind germany was because hitler was first and they knew they could become more powerful if they joined him
yeah, history is written by the victors, i get that, but we're in the 21st century, we should be exposing these sorts of thing, not hiding it
