• What the hell just happened to the Stock Market?

I think Zinayzen is actually a Greek God in disguise, toying with his mortal subjects and causing the crash to laugh at us as we run around in panic. How else would he know so much about it?
Why did it happen so suddenly?
Because greece recently just massively imploded in a shitstorm, so everyone panicked and the euro stock market sold everything out, causing the US stock market to also panick and sell anything involving the euro before the euro's value plummets. Causing both markets to drop, causing more people to panick and sell stuff out before it possibly drops even more. So the stock market at the moment is just a circle of people getting the shit scared out of them and selling everything, and greece started the scaring.
America is a combination of European countries and we work just fine. oh wait.
We actually do considering how diverse we are. Sure, there are quirks and bumbs in the road, but most people get along fine.

Here is a rough representation of the crisis in MSPaint form.
But what happened at 3:00 to cause it SO suddenly?
Apparently a trader made an error (that's what a tweet on Twitter's homepage is saying) hopefully it can be fixed
Dang Greeks. Where's Alexander when you need him?
In Macedonia?
Greece is just like the people who got us into this mess: Lying their asses off about how much money they have and when the investors expect to get paid, they get fucked.
Apparently a trader made an error (that's what a tweet on Twitter's homepage is saying) hopefully it can be fixed
It says he typed 'billion' instead of 'million'. I have my doubts, personally.
Here is a rough representation of the crisis in MSPaint form.
Art.
late probably but MSN is reporting it as a "glitch." http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Investing/Dispatch/default.aspx?feat=1751806&GT1=33002
Someone typed the letter b instead of m and that was the error...
Greece needs to pull their shit together and stopp living over wealthy lives and then bitch about it when they come down to our level. Fucking dicks.
Greece is just like the people who got us into this mess: Lying their asses off about how much money they have and when the investors expect to get paid, they get fucked.
A small part of Greece, somehow also the very rich part of Greece.
If you guys have access to the stock market, buy some stock. Now.
THANKS GOD, we didn't change to euro here in denmark yet. It would still affect us, but not near as much as they affect the countries with €
It pretty much doesn't.I don't pay bills. Give me a way it affects me.
For a twenty year old you're pretty damn naive.
Cheer up guys at least it's only down 300 points and not all the way back to 6700.
Did you read the thread at all? The U.S. did not cause this.
i know, i still blame obama
nuke greece
Fuck.
nuke greece
It's the only way.
nuke greece
This, treat it like a slowly dying limb. Cut the damn thing off from the euro, and then burn it. Problem solved, euro recovers smoothly, and everything is fine. Other than if you live in greece of course, but the problem with the stock market is solved. :unsmith:
Think its because of the UK election and the very high probability of a hung parliment.
apparently somebody pressed billions instead of millions when they were trading stock thus causing a giant stock fuckup. Not positive but thats what I heard. Im in America right now so it might be a different thing
Well, I lost $70 today in the stock market. Not as bad as I feared, but still pretty lousy, considering I only have ~$2500 in there to begin with.
communication and network failure in some companies at once
like we care, 90% of the people here are under 18, and dont use stocks. Yey! Dumbs for my fortress.
Wow, it affects the economy. You want to have a house right? Fucking 11 year olds.
People here fail to realize that Greece is one of those countries, that support themselves mainly on tourism and some nonessential trading. In this case for example, Greece is one of the biggest exporters of Olives worldwide. And with the whole crisis thing going on worldwide, people can afford less vacations in places like Greece, so the country's economy suffers. And since it's their main source of income, it suffers greatly. You can't blame Greece for anything. You can only blame the country which got us into the financial crisis in the first place. And you can fill the blanks, can't you?
