Im pretty sure its not much more then the actual Source Engine, but ok.
Possibilty: Half Life 3 is released and everyone groans and is disappointed by indifferent gameplay and lack of understandable storyline.
They're probably waiting on developing the best engine to use for Half Life 3 that actually would compete in the market.
Black Ops is overrated.
I do not see Portal 2 becoming old any time soon with that engine or gameplay ideas.
Black Ops being overrated is your own opinion. I think Valve is overrated.
Portal 2 will become old. Just like Portal 1 became old. Game's like Gmod and CSS and even HL2 have their lasting charms to where we can go back and play. Don't argue it's MP because I'm fully aware of that fact.
Do you picture yourself playing Portal 2 in 4 months after it is released? I sure as hell know I won't. It's not exactly a game you can replay multiple times. Sorry buddy. Precious Valve has their flaws just like any other studio. Harsh.
No one will play it unless there are new mods(!) coming out, we will finish the SP and Coop Campaigns in no time and after that will be finished. We might go back when VALVe puts in radios we have to put at random places to get an achievment, play it again. But thats it.

Oh I am so surely going to play Portal 2 for like 1 year. 60% of the time will be on GMod.
My GMod.
:smug:

You just made no sense. You're playing Portal 2 on Gmod? Using the content from it such as maps/props? Okay then those are items you're using. Not playing the game.
How do you want to play Portal 2 on GMod :colbert:

Someone has a case of false nostalgia.
How do you want to play Portal 2 on GMod :colbert:
With all the extra stuff that I can make on Portal 2 using GMod it will be much better.
Someone has a case of false nostalgia.
How so? I enjoy playing co-op with friends through HL2 and I occasionally go onto CSS to waste some time or play Zombie Survival on Gmod. The games have lasting appeal to me since it's just pick up and play with friends in something I enjoy.
Someone has a case of false nostalgia.
I agree with you Hentie.

Why would I be so unable to do this with Portal 2. Playing Portal 2 Co op with like 10 people on GMod unlike what you can do in Portal 2.
With all the extra stuff that I can make on Portal 2 using GMod it will be much better.
Every post you write referring to Gmod and Portal 2 seems to make less and less sense. Are you talking about mapping and such for Portal? Maps aren't that popular for it and even if that was the case, you'd be using Hammer, not Gmod.
With all the extra stuff that I can make on Portal 2 using GMod it will be much better.
I assume your mommy often tells you that you are special?
I assume your mommy often tells you that you are special?
No that is not the case.
No that is not the case.
Can you please start making some logical arguments in return to what I say instead of rating my posts dumb and saying no? Valve has no new content. Short and simple. You have said nothing to persuade me otherwise.
Portal 2 has some new gameplay features. Guess what? So does 90% of sequels that come out today. It's fancy but the game won't have a lasting appeal and Valve doesn't speak to their community at all. If they cared for the community then we'd know some information on what the hell Half Life is doing right now.

Were you exposed to the games at a young age? People often enjoy playing games from their childhood because it reminds them of the fun they had (or didn't have, according to false nostalgia). It's why I go back and look at those old Jumpstart games I had when I was like 5 and get some enjoyment from them. I never really liked them, and I had a horrible childhood, but it gives me this false nostalgia of the older days.
I get the same feelings from playing Half Life 1, Age of Empires, or Doom.
I'm really excited for Portal 2, as much as I like nostalgia, I like fresh concepts too.

I didn't get into Half Life 1 until I was about 9-10. I just like to play it since it has some interesting segments and it's enjoyable to go through in co-op with your mates. Gmod came later on and while it has died out majorly compared to how it once was, there is still some fun to be had.

Nice usage of the ? at the end of the question. What does mine nor his age have to do with this topic at all?

You seem like a old man anyway with your defending of Hl1.
So I cant enjoy games because Im not 12?
You can enjoy games, and you can also get a feeling of nostalgia off of games you played when you were younger, even if the games sucked in reality.
You seem like a old man anyway with your defending of Hl1.
I dont think youre doing it right.
You seem like a old man anyway with your defending of Hl1.
An old man? You don't have to be old to have played HL1. It's still on Steam right now. No excuse for not having played it. It introduced ground-breaking tech for the time and that's why it has a lasting appeal. That and the moddability that HL provides. How ignorant are you child?
I still got the HL1 Release Box. You know how hard it was to get an US game back then?

Well I respect that you're actually interested in discussion here. I don't think Half Life sucked and I don't think that Gmod sucks either. I think Gmod has gone downhill but that's another topic. Half Life is just a fun game to me and I like the story of HL2. It has a unique charm and HL2 opened a lot of gateways for some pretty cool mods.

I played starcraft 1 when I was 6. But that game did not have ground-breaking tech, I have nostalgia for the godlike gamplay.

Where do you get Starcraft from in a discussion about Half Life and Valve games? Nostalgia has nothing to do with pure and simple enjoyment of something. I wasn't aware it was a psychological matter to enjoy a game. I guess I have Nostalgia for playing Bioshock when I was 17 too if that's the case.

I am going off topic once again. But I am pretty sure that GMod is going uphill after a Portal 2 engine mount.
Thank you for the boxes Zark. Civil out.
