Would Amon Tobin's Isam be considered noise? The whole album is just sounds.
Debatable. I'd call it noise, others wouldn't. [editline]12th June 2012[/editline]

I'd love to have been at an early Japanoise (lol) gig. Born in the wrong generation etc etc.
For some more pleasant noise: I don't listen to Merzbow a whole lot but this is a good piece also obligatory [editline]12th June 2012[/editline] these guys are 100x more insane than Merzbow.
The Gerogerigegege once took 1000 copies of their new album to a beach and when enough people gathered, they burned all the copies. That's how you do a REAL promotion.
make sense of this track pls
make sense of this track pls
It's a poignant look into the melancholic sorrows of Masami Akita's mind, taking the listener on a journey that starts from the beautiful seeds of life blossoming into the rich flowers of individuality, maturing as the young mind's most simple and unperturbed pleasures are crushed by the inevitable realism of modern day life; eventually crushed once again by the inevitable release of death. Or something gay like that.
Here some stuff that fits and fits here more then anywhere else Stalaggh Mutant Ape (George Proctor) also behind White Medal, Sump and other Black Metal and Raw Punk bands in Northern England (Yorkshire mostly). Tollund Men Post-Punk/Synth Punk or whatever still rather noisy.
Stalaggh are the ones who used mental patient screams, right? I remember hearing about that when I was 13 and being like HOLY SHIT THIS IS THE MOST EXTREME THING EVER.
Stalaggh are the ones who used mental patient screams, right? I remember hearing about that when I was 13 and being like HOLY SHIT THIS IS THE MOST EXTREME THING EVER.
Yes.
Yes.
I used to blast Stalaggh when I was 13. Stalaggh, and Xasthur for some reason. All the time. I was a weird kid.

Masterpiece. [editline]16th June 2012[/editline]
For people who don't know, noise music is a genre with no defined sound, other than complete atonality and lack of rhythm. Everything is crunchy static noises, squealing feedback, mental-patient screams and generally weird noises that leave you feeling disoriented and without a sense of rhythm. Sounds fun, right? The most famous noise producer is definitely Merzbow, and with good reason. The guy has produced in excess of 300 studio albums. I suppose he has a lot of free time, being a 55 year old vegan animal rights activist and BDSM enthusiast. He's also slightly infamous for the Merzbox, a 50 CD box set with a shirt, a pendant and other such goodies inside. I don't know if I could listen to 50 CDs of Merzbow, but as long as one of them isn't Pulse Demon, I might be okay. Other noise artists include The Gerogerigegege (I don't have the time or mental capacity to list off every zany release of theirs, but luckily someone else already did it. Let's just say that they're a crossdressing masochist and a 55 year old coprophilic male stripper who met at a bondage club and decided to start a noise band. Oh, and the crossdresser is in a mental hospital now.), Masonna (who does sets as long as 30 seconds where he rolls on the ground and screams), and Prurient, who do walls of feedback that make your ears feel violated.
Why is a genre of music tied to a fetish so much?
Why is a genre of music tied to a fetish so much?
BDSM > masochism > wanting to feel pain > wanting to be subjected to displeasure > aural displeasure > harsh noise It's kind of a logical progression, really.
