you should have schooled the little bitch.
So I was coming home from helping my parents out, and I hit an intersection and had stopped at the traffic light. This car full of older (50 or so) women pull up, and the woman in the passenger seat started to make provocative tongue gestures at me. I was dumbfounded, so my reaction was just to return the favor. I made a few tongue motions, and then she got super serious and passionate. I was scared, looked away slight shuddering and then the traffic light turned green. I zoomed off, cackling. Off to live another day, after a close call with a car full of frothing at the mouth cougars.
It's not silly, opiates are a dangerous drug and should be treated as such. Detoxing sucks, addiction is probable, inexperienced users have no control over a tolerable dose, and there's always a possibility of overdose. Most of these drugs are legal, mind you. If you ask me, doctors shouldn't be allowed to prescribe these drugs, especially to minors. That being said, legality wouldn't really dictate my opiate use. They're great drugs for pain relief and relaxation. Are you saying stimulant users aren't susceptible to being shunned?
Yes, I am saying that. Saying doctors shouldn't be able to prescribe Opiates is kind of dumb, there are people that actually need Opiates for pain relief, what about those people? Are you saying they should just suffer? And Opiates really aren't any more dangerous than stimulants, in fact, I'd say stimulants are more dangerous because they carry a serious cardiovascular risk, and lots of people die yearly from heart problems that stem from stimulant use. The only real dangers from Opiates are addiction and overdosing, both of which happen with stimulants and others, there are alternatives to detoxing, such as weening off, or going on Methadone.

Yeah, man, I'm not really trying to argue with you, just some discussion. I'm saying cannabis is a completely viable alternative. Opiate's tolerance builds way to fast in order to continue an efficient pain relief alternative. Not to mention there's no physical dependency with cannabis. Another problem of course being the APAP carrying opiates, which are a majority of what's prescribed nowadays. I might feel a bit different if this wasn't the case with prescriptions, but people are unknowingly killing their livers.

Unfortunately, Weed doesn't help every form of pain, it's only for mild to moderate pain, whereas Opiates are prescribed for moderate to severe pain.
[editline]10th March 2012[/editline]
Also the APAP doesn't really damage your liver too much, unless you take it in high doses (The generally accepted limit is 3-4 grams in 24 hours, but you can go up to 14 grams in a single dose before you get APAP toxicity. But I'd be more concerned with my liver.
[editline]10th March 2012[/editline]
I still strongly agree with you on the APAP issue, however. I don't think doctors should be prescribing Opiates with APAP if they legitimately need the pain relief and need to take a good amount for that relief.
Time to sign up for the draft, GOD BLESS AMERRRICA.
fuck it, im gonna go get high instead
Being sober's been a trip for the last week. I'm not sure if I like it or hate it, but my migraine symptoms have become a fuckton harder to ignore.

tell your dad to work on his breathing technique for when he's anxious/panicking. that's what helped me when i had schizophrenic symptoms for like two months. let him know he's not alone, and people go through it. it may be for a period of time, if he's real worried he can see a psychiatrist. but most anxiety/anti-psychotic medicine is shitty, some have bad side effects. i'm recovering myself, it sucks when you have social anxiety issues happen too. i would hear people say my name all the time, weird shit 24/7. and being paranoid doesn't help, it makes things worse.
