Walking to school takes me 30 minutes, while skating at a decent [not balls-out] pace takes me about 6-8 minutes.
It's not as easy as riding a bike, but it is a decent way of getting around. I use it every day to get to school and back, and to do most of my weed sales/pickups, as well as getting 5 miles to the hospital and back [which takes about an hour one way, give or take traffic] when I have appointments.
The major difference is in the wheel size and board length - I'm riding a 44 inch board with 75mm wheels and I can hit a garden hose going ~15-20 mph [my top speed on flat land] and it won't slow me down.
I see the novelty of skateboards (ie more fun) but compared to bikes, bikes are just better for getting around honestly
Bikes:
All surfaces
Easy to stop at high speeds
Arguably easier to ride
etc
Bikes are cool but once I get my P plates I'm just going to drive.

But bikes are hard to manage. You gotta lock it up somewhere, and they're not exactly easy to stow. That's what I like about boards. They can go just about anywhere. But bikes go faster. and you can only stack on a bike if you're a total idiot.

SO my stepdad, who is a investigation or what the fuck cop came home today from his night shift. As I was about to go to school, he said "wait a moment, I have something to show you", I was thinking "Oh god I hope he didn't find my weed or some shit".
So then he was proceeding to draw out his phone and says "Last night we made a Razzia at a hells angels HQ. And we found the stoner's paradise" He the shows me photos and explained as Follows:
"In the upper floors there were two rooms like 20 m x 50m. They were filled to the brim with canabis plants in two stories each room. We also found like 50 2kg boxes of hash"
The photos made me flip shit in myself they were just too heavenly.
I had a wake 'n bake this morning before school so I was pretty stoned when he showed me. I think he doesn't know I smoke, I hope. But as I was about to go and he was putting away his mobile phone, I am pretty sure he said something like: " You would have loved that place"
