Nope, it's his son, Let us call Stephen's father Tim, and his son Jacob. I shall make a chart [editline]10:48PM[/editline] FUCK YOU YOU NINJA
This hurts my head :(
You're absolutely right. X's father = His father's son Now the son of his father must be himself because he has no siblings: X's father = himself <=> X = His son Edit: What is up with people being even slightly confused because of this? I wonder how they cope with, say, peeling an orange... What a challenge it must be.
Simple shit, man. "This man's father, is my father's son." This man's father = Person in photo is my father's son = Stephen SO Person in photo is Stephen's son. Simple. :downs:
This thread came back from the dead again  Everyone is overcomplicating it. It's very simple. Steven = Me. Remove the first part. Now it is "My fathers son". My father's son = Steven/me. Put the first part back. "This man's father, is me." Reverse that. "I am, this man's father". The man is Steven's son. :ms:
You guys are fucking dumb, if you haven't figured out that it's his son yet. I'll explain again. "I don't have any brother or sister, but this man's father is my father's son." Stephen's father's son could be Stephen or any of his sbilings. since he has none it's him, so it turns into this: "This man's father is me." Since he's the father, it's his son in the picture. Did that really take several pages to figure out?
It's his son. Nothing too hard if you think about it for a sec.

If someone ever gives you a problem like this, all you need to do is work BACKWARDS. 1.) "This man's father is my father's son" My Father's Son= Me 2.) "This man's father is me" Translates to "I am this man's father" Therefore, "this man" is his son. Works for every riddle of the same nature.
This reminds me of this 4chan-ish sentence i've stumbled upon (With stumbleupon) : Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
Thread proves the incompetence of half the people who use ratings.
I'd work it out. If I could be arsed.
So he went back in time, giggity'd his mother, or something like that...I don't know....
It is Stephen's son. If you can't see that you are retarded.
I could see why some would think it's himself. This man's father = My own father's son This man's father could be directed towards himself. So it's his father, and he is that son. Now for number 2: This man's father could be directed towards his son, in which the father is himself. Fuck man I am confuse

I don't see why people are confused. It's simple. You're all confusing yourselves over nothing.
"This man's father is my father's son" This man's father -> Unknown is my father's son -> Stephen Therefore: This man's father is Stephen since he has no siblings And the guy in the picture is Stephen's son.
We solved this ages ago, and everyone posting is saying it's his son, yet the OP's ratings and the first post's ratings are showing otherwise.
sounds like a nephew
It is Stephen's son. If you can't see that you are retarded.
I guess I am retarDUUUUURRRRRRRR
Ok, guys, it was ME in the picture. I'm sorry for causing you confusion.
I had to try this out myself, so I tried to visual it...
Wow it took me 3 pages to understand it.
Its Stevens fathers grandson. :science:
Its simple to write out THIS MANS FATHER = MY FATHERS SON My fathers son is me, so this mans father is also me, therefore he is my son.
Illegitimate child his dad didn't tell him about.
you guys are missing the most important part of this riddle. "Brothers and sisters, I have none. But this man's father is my father's son." GO TO 4:40 FOR THE ANSWER.

It does have the brothers and sisters thing, and that is actually what makes it certain it is his son.
It's from the original riddle I think.
It IS himself, who else could it be?
it could be you know his son
