If I'm to be completely honest Facebook has probably benefited my life outside of the internet quite a lot.
I met both girls I took to both my proms over facebook. one of them is my current girlfriend of 9 months.
People don't like Facebook on here because they got no friends, am i right?
Too bad it's possible to hang out with friends without using Facebook right? Also this thread is just a giant flame war. Also :goatse::gizz:
I met my girlfriend through it. Definitely not complaining.
against facebook = not many friends to talk with
I met my girlfriend through it. Definitely not complaining.
I met my current gf 5+ years ago through IRC, actually. But IRC chatrooms were a whole different ball game, specially back in the late '90s...
I'd be more worried about Facepunch tbh
Thanks a lot, Harvard geniuses!
Do you honestly think nearly everyone you know is retarded?
He's a major introvert and he hates almost everyone. I know, he used to be my friend.
The only reason I use Facebook is to keep in touch with one one of my friends who for some reason can't keep track of a phone to save her life.
I use it to connect with friends and family. It's nice to talk with Grandma again. :3:
I don't have a Facebook, I probably should.
I was obsessed with it when I first started, going on every 10 minutes to see which of my friends added me first, but within a few months I got tired of going on just to see people talk about their experience at McDonalds "Damn old men staring at me, smh" *17 comments, all acronyms or a stupid joke* Mostly it just made me anxious and wanting to be able to split up into multiple people and to be able to both go downtown with my friends, while finding out somewhere else I missed a birthday party I'd never hear about or care about otherwise. In the end, I go online maybe once a week at most to see that I've not responded to 10 or so posts on my wall, all pretty much "Hey- what's up?" I find talking in person the only way I want to ever communicate, at least with people I know personally, I don't like phones and online chatting because so much can be lost- the most subtle hint of sarcasm can piss someone off because they don't get what you said was a joke and are too stubborn to accept an apology.
people look at your face for sexual pleasure
In this thread: Judgmental douchebags on every side.
I don't find facebook addictive. In fact, I feel guilty when looking at my friends' photo galleries, because the people that I'm friends with are really just people I stalk.
I only use it to talk to people, facebook chat is alright and messages and shit. Thats all.
I rarely use it, usually once a day.
Yeah it's a good idea, it's a step forward in advancing the internet. Like it or not, facebook, myspace, twitter, and youtube have revolutionized society's methods of communicating.
Meh. I still don't use any social networking sites like myspace or facebook. I gave up on those a long time ago.
I just talk to my friends in the pub, at work, at airsoft games, or when they inexplicably turn up at my house. I personally don't see the need for Idiotbook, Crapspace and definetly not Shitter.
If I want to talk with my friends, I call them. If I want to do something with my friends, we go do something. Spartan One was right, it is a waste of time. I can convey information much faster in a phone conversation than I could through social networking sites.
In reply to the thread, yes, facebook is a good idea but all it's turned into is a meme shitstorm and retarded people. So, yes, the concept and site itself is fine, it's just the community that's ruined it for me.
They only reason you wouldn't have a Facebook account if all of your friends have one is if you're one of those dumbshit "fight the system" folks.
That's me! EDIT: Plus Facebook's for tools.
Does orkut count tho?
That's me! EDIT: Plus Facebook's for tools.
I rated tool in respect for those people.
The Republican Party is for tools too
I rated tool in respect to those people as well.

I use Facebook to keep in touch with old friends, family from up north, meet new friends, and keep up to date with some of my favorite bands. Pretty handy website, but I do understand the hate it gets from a lot of people.
The Republican Party is for tools too
Are you trolling or what?
