I found my old SNES!
That's an NES.
I miss the optimism of the 90's as we were entering a new millennium
Oh man, I used to watch that all the time. I think I even broke the VHS tape because I watched it so much as a kid.
More nostalgia for you:

I fucking loved Little Nemo.
I remember there were also a few shows my twin sister would watch all the time as a kid. One of them specifically being...

She still has all the dolls she collected as a kid in her room.
Sailor Moon is still awesome.
There's also the kindergarten kids with cell phones. And not just simple flip phones, Iphones and Blackberries. I'm 17 and only have a flip phone for fucks sake.
I just got my first smartphone, I used the same flip phone since my first phone which was like 7 years ago and I bought it myself.
That's an NES.
Woops you're right. regardless I found it.
Oh for fuck sake not another 90s WERE THE BEST NOSTALGIA thread
Didn't someone just post one of these like 2 weeks ago?
I can see why though, nobody wants to remember the 80s and most Internet-goers don't remember the 70s.

The weird noise the phone made when someone was on the internet scared me when I was little.

It reminds me of Giygas' battle theme tbh.

Forgot to mention this. I loved this show, it taught me how to make a paper owl which if I pushed both ends of it down (or something like that) it would open and close its mouth. I brought it to class in Kindergarten.
Show taught me so much cool stuff, If I could remember them I would make them right now.
Poland is still stuck in the 90ies. Stuck the negative way.
[editline]6th August 2011[/editline]
I don't like today's music. The 70s,80s and 90s were the Rock and Roll era, now we're into shitty pop,hip hop and rap.

You forgot the 50s and 60s.
And every decade has craptastic music, it's just that you notice it more when you're currently living the the same decade as said craptastic music.
Although I'm starting to wonder when the Gangsta Rap craze in my rural county will ever die.
80's metal is the best metal

This thread is making me feel old, and is therefore making me question my own mortality. Do you have any idea how weird it is questioning my own mortality while I have the Darkwing Duck song stuck in my head?
I just realized something while going through this thread though. The 90's gave birth to furries. A good 70-80% of the old cartoons featured some kind of anthropomorphic animal.

More than that though. Ducktails, Tailspin, Darkwing Duck, Eek the Cat, Looney Tunes, Animaniacs...the list goes on.

Anthropomorphic animals have existed in a lot of cartoons and comics since they were invented.
Well yes but it seems like there was an abundance of them back then. Seemed to be a phase cartoons were going through.

You know you're a 90's kid if you used to make fart sounds with this stuff:

Who could forget the Mighty Max playsets.....there must be a small army of missing figures in my backyard from these things:

The surreal/wtf memories of The Adventures of Pete and Pete:

I loved Salute Your Shorts....I wished it had stayed on as long as some of the other live action shows:

I don't know if it's just me, but the 90's seemed so much more livelier than the 2000's. Everything in the first decade of this millenium was just so bland and boring. The cartoons and live action shows on Nick now are just an udder disgrace.....even Spongebob, the last bastion of hope for Nick is dying a painful death. I don't know, it seemed like the shows back then were more "mature" and wittier I guess?
More than that though. Ducktails, Tailspin, Darkwing Duck, Eek the Cat, Looney Tunes, Animaniacs...the list goes on.
Digimon, Extreme Dinosaurs, Jim Henson's Dinosaurs, Street Sharks, Gargoyles...
And people ask me why I draw dragons and dinos all the time. :V
[editline]August 6, 2011[/editline]
Also, does anyone else subconsciously think that the 80's was 20 years ago, even though it's technically 30 years ago now since we're past 2010? Time sure does fly....
I remember the day they showed the first episode, ah good times

So much nostalgia in this thread
I think i was 6 or 7 years old just chillin on the couch then my mom comes in the room "CHANTZ, theres a new pokey-man tv show on tv coming on in a few minutes"
I was convinced it was just a show about people who train dinosaurs.
Disney and cartoon network needs to make some "classical cartoon" channels, I'd only let my kids watch that instead of all the other new "flash made" series they make now, instead of the real drawn cartoons of the 90's!

I remember the first episode on danish TV, it came on on a sunday, early morning. When monday came around, it was the most talked subject on the entire school. Other kids were getting cards with pokemon (mind you not the real cards with stats, but cards with pictures of the pokemon which you could stick on things) and then a month after the real cards came out and everybody collected them. Funny thing is, nobody played the game, only collected the cards.

Who remembers getting these in your kids meal?
Bear in the big blue house, anybody remember that?

I used to love that.
Anthropomorphic animals have existed in a lot of cartoons and comics since they were invented.
Eh, I don't know. Shows like Tom and Jerry and Loony Tunes did have animals too, but I wouldn't call them anthropomorphic. They were physically 100% animal - only their behavior was human.
In the case of modern cartoons, you see a lot more anthropomorphic characters like in Bonkers, Sonic the Hedgehog, or The Mighty Ducks.
We went from this

I fucking hate people who say "LOL u wernt born before '94 u cant say ur a 90s kid!!!"
As if every fucking piece of culture from the 90's MAGICALLY DISAPPEARED when it turned 2000. Cockheads.
