Having been born in 89 and grew up through all this stuff all I can say is I'm glad I did. As a kid watching my mum and dad play exile and elite on an old BBC micro and my first PC being an old beige Elonex running the "state of the art" Windows 95. Spent my time playing transport tycoon and C&C 95. And lego. I sold one of those rugs at a car boot and made a shiney 5 quid, also sold a eruopeaon kettle plug which goes to show people at car boots are insane. I used to think the favorable comparisons to being a child in the 90's and now was just nostalgia but seriously when I talk to neices and nephews they seem to be having a shite time. Caring more about social conventions and having a girlfriend in primary school than who has a shiney charizard up for swaps? They also don't belive me that cars run on explosions which shows education is taking a dive. And crunchies are getting smaller and smaller over time! They have lost over 1 inch during the course of 10 years, which can only mean somebody somewhere is stockpiling honeycomb for the future bee invasion. They also remaned mars bars "mini's" to mediums while retaining the same size! I'm gonig to go find that elonex
If you didn't own one of these you missed out.
MEGA nostalgia! [editline]8th August 2011[/editline]
Life revolved around this bitch. And.. Pokemon.
My sister had swimming lessons, and my parents stayed there and just waited / watched. I would sit there for the hour completely absorbed in pokemon blue, I ended up with a level 100 dugtrio originally caught from diglets cave... Then pokemon silver came along with its 2 regions and day night cycle, amazing... Pokemon silver/gold is still the best pokemon game of all time in my eyes.
Oh yeah also
I would spend hours playing this split screen with my friends, moonraker / golden gun style on that pyramid tomb thing level. AGH. I could comment on so much, I'm going to have to stop or my post will be huge. I was born in 1990 so I remember a lot of the 90's.

I remember going to Hershey Park. oh fuck if i could have just one more day in 1995-1999, but as i am now, and with my wallet Imagine bringing back a brand new factory-sealed Game Boy, or a factory-sealed ANYTHING. A brand new PlayStation 1 or Nintendo 64, back to 2011. [editline]8th August 2011[/editline] back when cartoons contained actual value
MURIEL WHERES MY DINNER
HNNNNG My nostalgia glands!
8th grade though.
That's fine, man. Just don't let all of facepunch know or a lot of people won't give you the time of day, even if you're a good poster. It's not fair, but it's just the way it is.
I remember playing this game all the time when I was younger.
[editline]8th August 2011[/editline] shut up i never had mario 64
Me and my dad used to play this game in 2001+ (i was born in 1992), i love it, but never finished it because i love the first levels, i still got the game on my gameboy advanced and the original system. Yeah, i still got the city carpet, along the hotwheels and such. And i still have the thunderbird's island thing along with the 1,2,3,4 and 5 models.
I think I should build a time machine so I can go back in time and play Super Mario 64. I'm one of the rare people who didn't have Super Mario 64 but also had a Nintendo 64.
I had a car carpet, used to set up my army men and large lego blocks on it and play war, Had Medal of Honor on th PS1, Never finished it. I had a copy of Tiberian Dawn, but I could never get it to work, I got The First Decade though, so I guess that makes up for it. Played lots of the old SIM games, (Simcity 2000, SIMant, SIMearth etc..) Unreal was fun, never finished it, still haven't, I had Doom on the PS1, came close to finishing it,(I gave up trying to navigate what I believe was a giant pentagram) didn't right down the level code, never went back. I recall all the old cartoons, Rugrats mostly, even as small as I was I never watched CN, don't know why. Although I technically don't count being born in Jan of 96, everything I know of the 90's comes from old video games and my parents.
Having to install this damn thing: [thumb]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/ed/N64-Expansion-Pak.jpg/623px-N64-Expansion-Pak.jpg[/thumb] In order to play Donkey Kong 64 and Perfect Dark
