The original canisters should act as the "heart" of the acid stuff. Its an interesting idea but may seem overwhelming to some people.
Not overwhelming to me :D. But yeah, mabye those could be the hearts. *cough* Weakness *cough*
The idea is actually not so new, it's been toyed with before. The problem is that you will have massive amounts of editing to do later on in a match, and if you want to be creative (eg you have some acid form into a fist and acid-punch someone or something) that'll take even longer.
another thing: The canister shouldn't be filled with an infinite amount of acid, it should have to consume certain structure/resources to grow

Effected land should be an altered color. If it inst, it seems the liquid/virus multiplies and/or the canister is filled with an infinite amount of substance. :O Just saying.

When the acid dissolves something, What it is dissolving will turn yellow
And weakness is fire, As it will absorb bullets
What would happen if you fired, Fire bullets at it? would it absorb the bullets or be fine, or would it catch fire and die, or both?

yeah but the acid can't be that strong that it immediately devours a large portion the ground in one turn
