Unless that is a second person, which would be most misleading with that similar outline

I like the overall thing you were aiming at, all of the elements seem very disconnected from each other though

Yeah I agree, it feels off, and as MakoSkyDub put it, disconnected. Feels like you just drew something here, something there with no correlation with each other, although it is supposed to be connected since it's one scene. I dunno.

well I guess the fact that it isn't actually finished probably doesn't help, but I was going for a vignette-style theme here, ie a huge room with different people with their own stories and scenes

You have a lot of potential as far as I'm concerned, it seems like some studies, anatomy, and formal practice would help a lot though.
