http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=583367 I don't know if that can help but it might. Those textures are 2048x2048.
I know how to tile images and everything, I guess it's just that my tiles are too small and that's why tiling is too obvious. Did you make those from photographs or from scratch? Good tutorial, I saved it in case I need it. For some reason I have this thing about making everything myself. So I would only use photos if they're mine. And seeing as I'm to lazy to take my own photos I wind up making textures by hand. I need to get over that.
God I need to get back into modelling, I did some while on work experience, was fun, since I haven't modelled in about a year. Probably my best model:
I use CGTextures for my projects, as do most studios.
Even Valve does, In the beta you could find a texture you can get from that site just like that. The konturs of this texture can still be found in hl2 somewhere.
How the hell does it work? How do you reload it?
It has a hammer (correct me if I used the wrong term) that you can pull back. [editline]04:15PM[/editline] Dammit. I meant it has a cock that you can pull back. inb4 sex joke. [editline]04:15PM[/editline]
I use CGTextures for my projects, as do most studios.
Awesome. Thanks for the tip!
How the hell does it work? How do you reload it?
It's a semi-Automatic shotgun, doesn't need to be cycled.
It's a semi-Automatic shotgun, doesn't need to be cycled.
I see, nevermind then.
Incoming stupid 3DS Max question... How do I manually input endpoint coordinates for a line. :v:
I wish I knew how to model :(
I wish I knew how to model :(
Then learn how to. It is never too late. Unless you're 90
So can anyone help me on why my UV render is all black?
Incoming stupid 3DS Max question... How do I manually input endpoint coordinates for a line. :v:
When you have the move tool and the end point selected you can see it's coordinates at the bottom, you can type in any number you want.
So can anyone help me on why my UV render is all black?
Like was said on the last page, is everything within the frame? Did you uncheck normalize clusters?
When you have the move tool and the end point selected you can see it's coordinates at the bottom, you can type in any number you want.
Or press mouse2 on move tool.
Why do the coordinates disappear when you select multiple objects though? I never quite understood that. I'm probably missing something obvious here.
When you have the move tool and the end point selected you can see it's coordinates at the bottom, you can type in any number you want.
Oh wow... :v: Didn't realize I could select the endpoint separately. Wait... How DO I select the endpoints?
Oh wow... :v: Didn't realize I could select the endpoint separately. Wait... How DO I select the endpoints?
What the hell is an endpoint? You can select vertex or edge or poly, what is endpoint?
What the hell is an endpoint? You can select vertex or edge or poly, what is endpoint?
The end point of a line segment... How do I select the vertices; that should work...
The end point of a line segment... How do I select the vertices; that should work...
If max, convert to editable poly/mesh and select dots. [editline]12:50AM[/editline] Hey, if I uv map my mesh and then later subdivide it, will my maps break? I did a test cube, it seems to be fine, but I dunno about more complex models.
Like was said on the last page, is everything within the frame? Did you uncheck normalize clusters?
I got it thanks, they actually weren't in the frame. But now I am having trouble doing the actual texture, if you are still going to do that video on a full tutorial that would be amazing.

What are you having trouble with?
Well after rendering the the UV map, then painting over it, actually applying it to the object and it looking right. I can't even get it to appear on the object at all.
I think someone should make wheels for Gmod. The PHX one's is all we got and there's not much choice. Thanks.

Ive just started to model Lister and Rimmerssleeping quarters Dorm from Red Dwarf. Not much to look at the moment but im hoping to get the modeling done by Friday. Does scale I am modelling at matters? I am using default units and I love to scale models to 1k or more units, because then I can freely zoom in without clipping, but if it is bad, I won't do it.
