Yeah it works now, but is there a way to make it NOT to deform the mesh, sometimes it stretches my chain rings.
Maybe this will help you.

This is a REALLY early WIP render, it also has horrible materials ect, was my very first render so is the first time i have seen some of the errors Anyways, couple hours work, would have been less if there wasn't a power cut and i lost a large chunk of work... saved every 5 minutes since Anyways, any comments/criticism?, Thanks
It's good but with the antenna, I think in the original every second semi-sphere points down, in yours all of them point up. Might be worth fixing. With a bit of work, I think it'd it be great. Also, who's that standing in the front?
Agreed with Tracker. Work on the antenna. Also, it's just a biped used for making sure his work is to scale. [editline]12:25AM[/editline] Just curious couldn't you do the chain with reactor? Put a small object between loops, animate those objects to move where they need to go, apply the reactor animation after it looks good, and then remove keyframes? It would be much more realistic.

But I wonder if anyone knows how to move chain along a line? In one tutorial I saw a dude create line and a cylinder and then he did something and that cylinder took the shape of the line, I just don't know where I saw that :(

http://www.tutorialized.com/view/tutorial/Creating-a-tank-track/4965 Anywhoes, Did a little more work on the Planet Express Building
It looks just great, keep on working :)
A lot of my keys stopped working with max all of a sudden. The delete key, to name one, randomly just quit on me. It works with anything other than max and the all of my shortcuts and such are unchanged. Halp?

Having some fun with Fur and hair! (Warning, it's rather big) http://filesmelt.com/Imagehosting/pics/c016389ae732ee789031e25419a2f544.jpg Not looking for C&C, just ... posting. :)
Caps Lock perhaps?
Caps lock doesn't seem to disable hotkeys.
Caps lock doesn't seem to disable hotkeys.
In Maya there are different binds for capital letters and lower case, meaning Caps Lock can be used to switch between different editing modes if you so desire. It's screwed me over a couple of times when CTRL+Z hasn't worked and I've freaked out.

So I've started modeling a Benelli M4 Super 90 / M1014 aka auto-shotty from CS. Here's a look at the high-poly so far.
Hide the circles. They don't matter at the moment. It was assumed you would make the 4 lines a closed object before you used boolean. All you have to do is use attach under editable spline and make all of those lines one spline. Then just make more lines that attach the original 4. Then you weld all the vertices and presto. The lines you make to connect them don't matter because the boolean operator will get rid of them anyways. Snapping looks like a magnet in the toolbar. Right click and you can change settings and enable tons of different types of snapping.
Ok, my lines are now form a closed shape and have been attached so that they are a single shape. Yay, time for boolean... or not. My spline shape is in spline mode (or whatever it's called when you push the spline button thing... :v:) and the boolean button is raised, but whenever I click it, nothing happens. No symbol appears next to my cursor; it acts as if I never hit the button. (And yes, I have used boolean before, so i know how to use it.) I must be missing something incredibly obvious...
Hit trim. [editline]12:17PM[/editline] Also, I restarted and Max is still borked on the delete key and such. Pissin' me off. Also also, does anyone have some good starter tutorials for Inventor? I got the demo in the mail and I'm confused as FFFFFFUUUUU

Trying it now. [editline]12:34PM[/editline] Thank you have my babies it worked <3
Ok, finally got the shape... Now I can't figure out how to turn into a plane...
Why didn't you just use fillet. :v:
What...?
To make a plane just convert to editable poly. Or use the extrude modifier while it's a spline to make a perfect little extruded ma-bob.

Green ring isn't tall enough. Windows don't look set in deep enough.

Holy shit.
I wonder if new maxes can save a compatible .max that older versions could open?
Get this done and I will love you.
Havent been able to do as much as I wanted to but here is my latest render.
