In 1 or 2 days I'll post a print screen of a tommy gun I've been working on. I've only started using Maya yesterday, so it won't be that great.
Hey nvidia do you know how to get camera motion into max?
In one tutorial I saw a dude was using camera motion recorded from his real camera. I mean, not character animation, but how camera moves. That way he had nice and realistic movement of camera. I would like to know what software could possibly do that? Motion track and then export as something that max could import.
Sounds like 3D tracking.

Maybe I should model on some LCD screens and heartbeat sensors to the house, then it'll be more Modern Warfare lol.

Well they are both Arab Cities, so that makes sense.
I haven't modeled anything in quite some time. I think I'll try to whip something up here in the near future. I don't have anything to do anyways, unless I magically get a job.
What free software can break video into jpg frames?
What free software can break video into jpg frames?
Maybe FFmpeg but I'm not sure... http://ffmpeg.org/
ffmpeg is too complicated for me, sadly ;(
:siren: BEGINNER'S BAD FIRST MODEL COMING THROUGH :siren:

I would give it windows, but I don't think I could without fucking the model over. :frown:

Without fucking it over? There's nothing to fuck over :D
Without fucking it over? There's nothing to fuck over :D
True. :D
But still, it would be nice. I just don't know how to make it look, you know, good.
Inset, then extrude, and BAM.
What program are you using?
What program are you using?
Blender, and to be honest, I just started really modeling a couple days ago.
[editline]hidden secret[/editline]
What I need is a way to turn a lot of faces to one, if it's possible.
it is. press w when in edit mode with the vertices then press marge
What free software can break video into jpg frames?
VirtualDub, easy peasy
(when you go it installed, open your video file, then, file > export > image sequence, done!)
it is. press w when in edit mode with the vertices then press marge
No, that just crushes everything in.
-snip-
What format/codec is the video in?
No, that just crushes everything in.
erm. a face is a 4/3 vertices "plane" you cant bend a face
erm. a face is a 4/3 vertices "plane" you cant bend a face
I know the difference between planes and vertices. I was just saying that merge doesn't really do anything useful.
Say, what's the difference between Maya and 3ds Max? I had always thought them to be two names for the same thing, but now when I actually look at the Autodesk website, I see they're seperate.

They have completely different work flow and UI.
They're entirely different in most if not all ways.

But end result is mostly the same :D
Well I guess but 3dsmax's scanline can produce some really awesome results, dunno much about maya's default renderer.
Maya and max both have mental ray.
