I prefer scanline, also: Need to work on the front wheel section more, maybe add some suspension or something on the front side. Also engine is open to show that I actually modelled the valves etc, the cylinders and crankshaft are also modelled.
Well I'm trying out 3ds max, and am having trouble finding all the things I used to use in Maya. I'll probably be asking a bunch of simple questions in here. How do I add divisions? I want to be able to extrude part of a box, but I can't do that if it only has one face, and I can't find any tools to split the face into more.

Normalmap time. Only used photoshop for that.
In Blender, is there a way to comfortably manage the camera? kind of like in XSI
Update! I just learned how to use merge properly, and I square-ified that weird-ass triangular garbage I got for subdividing too much. :woop: EDIT: yay I got a gaybow :neckbeard:
Some test rendering with hdri. Tryed to add a dramatic look to the image. For the original size. Magnusson with the headgear from the fisherman from lostcoast.
Low res texture ruins it, IMO. And, do you have any simple/good tuts on modelling characters? I want to make a ragdoll for gmod :) I know how to import and all that, all I need is tuts on the process of making characters.

Try to search on http://www.tutorialized.com/. I was trying to create some characters, but i never got managed to create one. I got the same problem with cars.
Yes, i agree with the low res texture, i think it needs some DOF it would blur the background nicely too.
I will try that tommorow. ;)

Ill post this again for the lolz. Haven't finished it yet, I will when I get my model back (which I haven't touched since early 08.
Wow, looks awesome, nice and smooth. Now for the textures. ;)
I believe it would be better if he was facing the other way
Do you mean that you will only see the back of his head?
The renders are bad and buggy but whatev, still WIP. I've named her Gunthropp BE-11 Brute. Or the Flying Pig. :v: I think she's what you'd call a fllying submarine, the vents on the front are designed to gulp down water fast so she can dive right after hitting the water. The hull is also made with flotation in mind so she's a fullbred seaplane, there's no landing gear or anything. The elevators in the back turn like on modern jets, there's no ailerons on them except on the rudder which is also used for steering underwater. There won't be any ailerons on the wings either, the roll is achieved by soon-to-come airbrakes on the wings and the tail fins.
Wow, looks awesome, nice and smooth. Now for the textures. ;) Do you mean that you will only see the back of his head?
No, I mean he shouldn't be facing the border [editline]02:13PM[/editline] So can anyone answer my question?
No, I mean he shouldn't be facing the border [editline]02:13PM[/editline] So can anyone answer my question?
I've never used XSI, could you explain how the camera is on there?
Well, there is one camera tool that when you right click lets you rotate the camera around the selected item, and when you left click you can pan the camera. It's kinda like in max except its all in one tool.
Try selecting a ring of edges around the box and then use the connect tool.
How? :C Everything is different, I don't even know how to select edges now. Edit: Aww damnit, first post on a page.
une mise à jour! Forgive the awful wheel textures, I haven't started modeling actual tyres yet. The filename is the name I've given the car as of now. It's named after a dead president.
Well, there is one camera tool that when you right click lets you rotate the camera around the selected item, and when you left click you can pan the camera. You can also click-and-drag MMB to move around it freely, and shift-MMB to pan the camera. Hope that answers your question, and if it doesn't, tell me to clarify. I have a tendency to make things sound a lot worse than they are.

I can't get bone to rotate part of my mesh. I made a chest, but envelope selects whole mesh, not only top of chest. Can I directly select polies/points, not just adjust envelope?

Awesome by the way.
I made these a LONG time ago for the HDR rendering thread, hope you like them. :)
In 3ds max, when I unwrap, I choose planar and then it stretches it to fit 1:1 ratio, and because of that the map looks bad. Is there a way to turn off this "autoalign" feature?

Amazing texture work, Ajacks. I really need to get a camera of sorts, or just use my friend's.
Amazing texture work, Ajacks. I really need to get a camera of sorts, or just use my friend's.
http://cgtextures.com has great quality textures at high res format. That's what Ajacks uses.
The mapping is still well done.
