If I can find out if there are smooth groups in blenderand how to get yafray to work and after some work I'm sure it'll look good. It's still a very early wip

ok i made this quikly i was messing around with volumetric lights , caustics and shadows...i call it..into the gates...what do you think? Looks Nice.. More Progress on Rifle.. Sorry, but it's just a meshsmoothed mess. What you've basically done is slap some shapes and hoped that the smooth modifier takes care of the rest. Which it never does. Or that's what it looks like to me.
Reason it smooths like that is because of really bad geometry, I guess.

Well, i would personally start doing it all over again.
Try plane modeling or at least make the sides not flat.

Instead of spawning a box and extruding the shit out of it, you spawn a plane and extrude the shit out of the edges.

Try rendering a preview in the exposure menu and then change the exposure mode and see which suits the best.
