What do you guys think? It's my second attempt at editing polys.

Looks nice, except screen could be a bit more rounded
Not sure how to do that at the moment. To create the curve I chamfer'd it. I suppose I should make more segments. I'll take a look, thanks!
What do I tick to render z-depth only? In vray that's it.
What do I tick to render z-depth only? In vray that's it.
You can't only render it, you add zdepth to your rendering elements and it's going to be saved where the output is set.
So I need to re-render my whole scene every time I change zdepth value?
Yes.
Is there a way to do "materialless" render? Like it won't render any materials. just pure white or something, so I can preview my depth without taking hours to re-render

Use .rpf file format if you use Combustion for composing. .rpf contains depth, object and object id data.
Another update, had to redo the lightning because Blender didn't feel olike saving when it had to.

I think I don't use it, since I dunno what it even is...
He's saying that you should, not asking if you use it yet.
I made this for one of my friends. The last name is the same style as the first name, but I left it out for privacy reasons.

I LOVE caustics. If caustics were a woman I would marry her and have sex with her 10 times a day, then we will have children... which will be glass humans that give off the most bad-ass caustics ever witnessed!

Combustion, what is it?

Why leave his last name out. There could be so many people with that first name and last name. It's not like we are going to attempt to rape him.

Speak for yourself!
It's the goddamn internet.

How DO you make caustics?

nVidia can you tell me how to open 3ds max so I don't have to take the two seconds to google it?
Sheesh. You really have a good attitude about people. You're really patient when you don't need to be. I know if I were in your place I wouldn't be so patient.

It's just that peoples are asking stuff they could just easily google themselves.
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=3ds+max+caustics+tutorial
Every tutorial I tried didn't work.
I tried 5.
Make object. Put some sort of glass looking shader on it. I like mr Arch & Design. Put a spotlight on it. Go into the GI tab of it and allow manual caustics. Go to your render settings, turn on caustics and check the sampling radius. Right click on object, generate caustics. Play with the settings a bit.

I usually go with glass_physics_phen material.

Was my point.

Oh i see it now.
I need some sleep now, 3:30 AM here and i need to wake up at 7:30 AM. :eng99:
What the fuck, nVidia. Why do you have boxxy avatar?
What the fuck, nVidia. Why do you have boxxy avatar?
Noticed as well.
I would be ashamed.

nVidia this is blasphemy.
I usually go with glass_physics_phen material.
Why? I think it looks the same as Arch/Design yet Arch has more control.
[editline]08:20PM[/editline]
Also who the hell cares if it's a boxxy avatar. It's just some girl who made some post on some youtube internet thing. I still fail to see why that ever became a big deal. It's stupid that people make a big deal of such a little thing.
