Damn, missed those floating wires.
Can someone with max 9 and/or photoshop CS3 that use Windows 7 check some things for me? Is photoshop lag free if you have the Aero theme on/off? Does 3Ds max 9 work with Aero theme on/off?
Yes, yes. Why would aero lag your software?
Because right now I use vista, and photoshop lags if Aero is disabled. But Max 9 doesn't work with Aero enabled.

Just making a design for a new desk for my room, heres one I did for a friend:

Still forgot to fix the float the floating wire, oops. I shall next time.
Lol, tiny tiny keyboard?
Yeah, glass balls are what the cool kids do
I understand that was sarcastic. And if it was, that means you think his renders are good/beautiful?
I'm kinda stuck on something with this render, i'm trying to make the glass part look like it has a computer display projected onto it. I've tried everything I know and so far no luck. [editline]02:56PM[/editline] Just realized I made the material for the plastic parts too dark. :/
Alphamapped plane with self-illumination.
Pringles: Needs antialiasing. Also the rendering is pretty bad. What program are you using?
I understand that was sarcastic. And if it was, that means you think your renders are good/beautiful?
I'm not the guy with the desks. But yeah, I kinda like my own renders, even though noone ever comments them.
V-twin choppa, probably 4 valve per cylinder. Design is bone oriented, gonna try and make it look like a sweet rib cage surrounding the engine and other components.

Cad is fine if you make houses and stuff, but for rendering get something else, like max :D

Im gonna be doing some 3d design at college in games development so I wonder what software they will use :crossarms:
Here's one for ya'. When I press E in max when I'm in anything such as select verticies or faces or something, sub object, it then switches to "extrude" rather than rotate. Why does it do this now, it never did this and now it does. Has this happened to any of you?

Only thing I could suggest is to make sure your shift key isn't sticking or something, since extrude is shift-e.
Still forgot to fix the float the floating wire, oops. I shall next time.
Ah, that looks a lot better. Good job.
Hey guys, Got a problem here. As you can see on the top in the modifiers list, I don't have the [+] sign next to the UV map modifier. How do I get this back? In an earlier version of the mp3 player (an earlier save) it works, but there is too much to redo. Help would be appreciated thank you :D!
Is stuff grouped there? if so, ungroup them. Also, did you do your cables with cylinders? you should learn to use nurbs for that.

Get to tha choppa!
:flashfap:
Looks great. But what's with the big, pointy spear on the top?
Looks great. But what's with the big, pointy spear on the top?
It's pretty badass, for impaling skulls of slain victims.
Damn that's badass, SCopE5000
Thanks guys, managed to get it working. Rated informative :) Now this is very first UV map. It's not great, and it was just to see if I could actually do it. The textures aren't very fitting at all (and theres some floating cables I missed still), but I'm getting there. I haven't done the earphones yet (obviously).
