Are you doing the info bar manually or do you have a script/plugin that does it?
MelonGuy, could you post a view so we can see the top of the player?

The info bar is made in Photoshop, simply so i can document my progress easily.

Sure, just rendering one now. I'll update this post :)
EDIT:

As I've said before, it's an awful UV job but it was just to see if I could. Tomorrow I'll do a much better job, by texturing the screen, buttons etc.
EDIT: It says alpine-rock.com, not alpine-cock.
I don't have that mp3 player so I don't know what material that little knob is made out of. Right now the texture looks rubber but it looks like the rubber looks like it has a kind of rocky surface. Rubber has really flat tones and not much, if any surface detail.
Would be hillarious if it said alpine-cock. Like a cock the size of a mountain

It is a good idea, so why not?
I've started working on a new portfolio site.

So in max sometimes it happens that you can't zoom in and it goes slower and slower. I need to press Z to reset this thing. Is that a feature or a bug? If feature, how do I turn it off or use it right? It's damn annoying.
Just first time trying new rendering method.
Also not too good at 3ds max. Still learning.

Why every starter needs to render some basic shape? That's so boring.

Yeah it happens sometimes, dunno what causes it.

probably because they're

BEGINNERS?
I made a vase and a cup for my first render.

What is it with avatars that bend my will? :supaburn:
So ok, another thing I made today:

Just some basic shapes put together. And what is that thing in the middle, it looks awful.
your avatar looks awful as well but I don't complain about it :P

You can if you want to.

Good reply let's avoid the fact that he addressed something bad about your model and retort with something immature.
Was going to post about how it's basic shapes because I didn't read his whole post, but the point stands. Also, if you're going to make a gattling gun, at least use references or learn about gun design. And then learn to texture instead of throwing on the metal gloss. That's very unprofessional.
Well maybe first of all you should read my 1 page back post?
Which says I am Begginer not professional. And then fucking comment on how pro I am .
I think he has a fucking awesome avatar.

If you're going to be a dick about something and not take criticism then it doesn't matter how much of a beginner you are. Also, johanz has a fucking awesome avatar.
Yeah it happens sometimes, dunno what causes it.
I think what causes it is 3ds Max's perspective view system, uses a target point.
When you zoom in the point doesn't move and it doesn't just change the FOV because you go through objects instead of just zooming in on them. So I think it's safe to assume that all it does is move the camera along the line towards the target, while the target remains still.
What I think is happening there is when the camera is basically right next to the target, and I think the zoom function is exponential, because of the exponential scaling phenomena (If it was linear it'd take ALOT of scrolling to zoom out on something BIG and if that was fixed but it was still linear you wouldn't be able to zoom into little details without going way too far or way too little.) so you're zooming in closer and closer to the target point and 3ds Max thinks that you're trying to zoom in on a detail when you're just not.
It's mainly caused by the Pan tool, that moves the target point around and that combined with the orbit can confuse you and Max.
I think it's the better solution because it's only annoying some of the time, the alternative would be annoying ALL the time. Of course they could make it work with angles but I think that would make some of the features in the program break.

Correct, it's exponential. Just use the smooth zoom tool. Forget the shortcut because I just know it from muscle memory. I think it's control + scroll wheel click + move mouse up? Really there is no better alternative. Orthographic doesn't have exponential but don't even try that. It's impossible.
[editline]01:30AM[/editline]
At least for me. I can't use ortho. I find no use for it.
I had originally made this some time ago but the render quality was pitiful. So I revised it recently.

You should seek professionalism nonetheless if you want to improve. Take the critisism and learn from it. They don't hate you, they want to point out the flaws that keep you from improving.
Some people can't take words on the internet. Hell, on deviantart for some people if you say "There's a hole in your model" they will go apeshit, call you names and block you.
Really, if you can't take some words, don't become an artist. There will always be someone who won't like your work, bear with it.
