It's simply a vray material with IOR set to 1 and it has no reflections or color. Then i used particles to spawn some spheres inside the torus.
Ah, i thought that was how you did it considering they left shadows on the surface, i'm not sure if they would do that in real life, they might, i have no idea. I havn't really found a decent picture of a glass with bubbles in just to compare outputs, Still, Very Nice

The grain really does add to that render.

Texture it...
Hi guys! It's not much I get to look into this forum, but I like what I see. I'm glad so many of you, both frequenters and new ones, are so willing to help people with problems such. I don't have much time modeling and rendering, but I still try to do some 3D once in a while. Today I've been looking into lens flares, using the Knoll Light Factory plugin for After Effects. It's pretty awesome, if you oversee the fact that lens flares has been outdated in nearly 20 years:P. Posting stuff that's doesn't have to be finished yet... On a side note, I'm finishing my time in the army in about three weeks, and after that I'll have a lot more time doing digital arts, and especially doing HDR panoramas.

Guess what, I think it looks a bit like Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Why am I late?
I just did some work on this guy:
When you set it to night, do you just set it so the time is late. Because i've tried that, but my sky is still white, even though there is less light.
Is it a mental ray sky? If so, it should change. MR skies aren't white. [editline]04:46PM[/editline] Oh, and can someone (nVidia, maybe) give some useful tips on rendering?

Load the "mental.ray.daylighting.high" preset and set the indirect illumination final gather preset to medium, or low. And this is what you should be rendering.
I should probably use presets. I know how to render with daylight systems, but I'm no good with stylized renders like cellshaded, flat, and I can't do z-buffer passes for depth effects (which is what I REALLY want to learn more about)
"Add render elements" or something under the rendering settings and click add, and scroll down for zdepth.
But that's a separate pass and I don't know how to properly merge in PS. :saddowns:
But that's a separate pass and I don't know how to properly merge in PS. :saddowns:
Ps can't.
Ps can't.
Then I don't know what program does :crying: [editline]08:37PM[/editline] Fine I'll google it.
select the layers and press ctrl+e?
Thank you very much nVidia! One last thing, how do I get the photometric free lights to work? No matter what i do I can't get them to emit light. In the perspective view, when I change settings I can see a difference, but when I render there is no light being emitted. Thank you. EDIT: Mental Ray btw. EDIT2: I just realised no lights are working.. could it be because of the daylight setup that I have? I also have skyportals in the windows with arrows pointing inwards. EDIT3: Okay I removed all the sky portals and daylight systems, but now there's no light. If I try making an onmi, or any other light it's still not working. I have my mr physical sky as in instance in the material editor to change the brightness of the sky. EDIT4: This is the second time I've made this scene, and both times the lights have stopped working. In other scenes, they are working fine. I am using the mentalray.high preset that nVidia kindly intstructed.

Greeble?
Greeble?
Sure is.
I have a feeling that photometric lights should have a very high brightness multiplier like 3k or something.
It's not just the photometric lights, it's both them and the standard ones. I've tried massive brightnesses and even the presets, they don't emit light :( Sorry to be a bother :(

Because everyone who sees that says it. It's not even funny anymore.
my dual screen setup :D Edit: a bump map test with the new setup
Some more progress. I see what you mean with the eyes. I'll have a look at it.
Right around his eyes and the top of his nose looks like someone punched it in, the rest looks okay though.
Fair comment, but that's obviously because it's a comical character with odd shapes.
Very true, still bugs me though.
