Any ideas on how to get it working? Also I love 2010 :3:
You got it set to run as Admin? That's the only thing i could possibly think of :/
To be honest, you wouldn't be pro but I bet you could use the program. I know kids that are 2 years old and can start a computer and click a game's icon on the desktop to run it.
My 7 year old brother has been able to map for portal since last year. :smug: Not well, but he can do it.
Is there a software to simulate realistic physics and destruction? Kinda like in red faction but not realtime and much more detailed?
Rayfire.
Rayfire.
It's quite meh for more realistic sims. It can't even bend stuff. All it does is fragment objects, and even then, that doesn't happen in dynamic way when an impact is going on.
You guys might make me get 3dsmax installed again. right now i am using Zbrush. Zbrush is hard but i wil try some stuff out for you guys.

DMM is better than rayfire IMO but still very similar.
Nice, but i would have used a geosphere instead of a regular sphere. Edit: [hd][/hd]
I never got those geospheres. What is the difference?
Ok, nice tutorial but - gawd, no more notebook! *Cries* At the very least you could use an editing program to add text to the bottom. What I do is I normally talk, add subtitles on the bottom and have a slight calming music in the background.
Thanks for the tips, but I'm not a real videoediter, I once tried videoshopping, it takes WAY to long.
I still have 3ds Max 9. Too lazy to switch to 2008 or 2009 or 2010, and most of the plugins I use only work on 9. [editline]01:12PM[/editline]
I never got those geospheres. What is the difference?
Normal spheres are built from quads (rectangles), so they get smaller at the top and bottom. Geospheres use triangles and thus are consistent on every spot on the sphere.
Thanks for the tips, but I'm not a real videoediter, I once tried videoshopping, it takes WAY to long.
Get it right and you can add the text in 'bout 5 minutes. This took me 15 minutes of editing: It might not be that good, but it works.
Or just use YT subtitle feature.
I prefer notebooks, it's easier and you can do it at the very moment. IF there is a program that lets you edit and record at the same time then I would use that program.

I saw a program once, a guy pressed a button and painted on the desktop and recorded at the same time.
I saw a program once, a guy pressed a button and painted on the desktop and recorded at the same time.
Why would you need that? Unless you would write with a tablet

Trying something with the Falloff shader thingy.

Good work Jeggis and Dlaor, I hope to do some 3D stuff today, I need to get back into it.
This is the result of violently blowing a teapot up.
This is the result of violently blowing a teapot up.
If you make boring renders, at least make shadows less grainy :D
If you make boring renders, at least make shadows less grainy :D
No.
No.
Render settings?
If you make boring renders, at least make shadows less grainy :D
I think rather than saying that, it would be more useful to say something like: "I think your render is a bit bland, perhaps you could make the background more interesting, and put a better material on your teapot. I recommend something with a bit of gloss, or something that looks ceramic. Another recommendation for this scene would be to fragment the teapot a lot more, so you can have many pieces laying around everywhere. Also your shadows seem a bit grainy. That is all, keep up the good work!" Then everyone is happy and the user then learns from you.
Render settings?
Of course I know how to do it, but the render would take too long, since depth of field renders the entire scene like 15 times at different angles, then merges them together.
Of course I know how to do it, but the render would take too long, since depth of field renders the entire scene like 15 times at different angles, then merges them together.
Why not use fake DOF then? It's much faster and looks pretty much the same
Why not use fake DOF then? It's much faster and looks pretty much the same
I could use the depth-buffer for blurring, yeah... Anyhow, here's some more experimenting. It's the result of a cone crashing into a sphere. (yellow = sphere, red = cone) (with moar smooth shadows!)
Of course I know how to do it, but the render would take too long, since depth of field renders the entire scene like 15 times at different angles, then merges them together.
I was asking what you use.. :psyduck:
