Does universities look at grade 11 averages? (Had a shit grade 11 term due to judgmental teachers)
Everything I've ever read and been told has said that 11th grade is far more important than 12th grade, since, if you're applying along the standard timeline, they'll be looking at those grades instead of the ones from 12th.

You talking about Uk uni applications. Your teachers will give an estimate on what your grades will be this is how the uni decides.
I'm in Canada so most of you won't know these universities, but I've gotten acceptance letters from:
Carleton University - Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) w/ $4,000 scholarship
University of Ottawa - Honors Baccalaureate in Commerce (Undeclared Major) w/ $4,000 scholarship
University of Guelph - Management Economics and Finance (Not sure about scholarship)
All of these have co-op in the programs (meaning an extra year to do like an internship I guess)
Also, I'm applying for tons of scholarships so I hope I can cover the cost of most of my education (It's about maybe 7-9 grand a year because I'm not living in residence).
Good luck and congrats to other university applicants!

Grade 11 is the (supposed) most important year of high school.
Yes, they do.

Are you going to be applying for OSAP as well, or just the scholarships?
UC Davis started sending out results today! Got admitted :D
Both of my parents, all 4 of my grandparents, 4 of my cousins, 3 uncles, and 2 aunts went to Purdue. They all loved it. Only my cousins were within the last 10 years, but from what I've seen, it's pretty nice. That being said, I'm applying once I finish
my junior year in 2 months.
And it's also an exceptional engineering school, and a very good computer science program. It'll be heaven for me if it's half as good as I've heard.
[editline]15th March 2012[/editline]
To those that know Purdue, I'm scared about my GPA and SAT/ACT not being good enough (may be paranoid because my parents keep scaring me about it). How is a GPA of about 3.65, SAT of 1830, and ACT of 27? I'll have an academic honors diploma and Web Design 1 2, Programming 1 2, and AP Computer Science under my belt when I graduate.
For getting into the college of science, you've got a good gpa and a good SAT, don't worry about it.
Also, for the person asking about Purdue, if you can afford it, and get accepted, do it. This has been the two best years of my life so far.
I didn't get into University of California Davis. It's the sister school of Berkeley and I was so sure I would get in. On the other hand I want to get away from the west coast because there is nothing for me out here and I've lived here my whole life.
I'm glad I didn't get into it though. I would have been forced to go there regardless if I got accepted in another state. Now I can choose where I want to go.
In the mean time, does anybody know of any nice East Coast universities that are still accepting admissions? I already have a few.

Respect...
Might sound creeperish, but we're going on the same field and I want to get someone in a lead. Maybe add up on skype or something?
Got accepted at City College Plymouth. :D
Well, I'm already doing a Level 2 IT course there, but I'm going on to a Level 3 IT course now.

@ Nytol_, you should've gone with Plymouth. The uni and the colleges have extremely nice people who will help you in any way they can.
I'm at Plymouth University at the moment, it's awesome :)
Are you going to be applying for OSAP as well, or just the scholarships?
Probably OSAP (I'm covered up to 7 grand apparently), but my parents don't want me going into "debt", in which I don't know if OSAP is included with that.
@TheNuB - Skype is PrezShadow, give me an add :)
Out of the eight colleges I've applied to, I've been accepted into two, and wait-listed by two. I'll hear back from the last four within the next month.
Just got accepted to the University of Victoria for computer science! Just in the nick of time I might add.
university of jordanstown in NI , looking to do interactive media :)
my college of choice has a student work program that pays for all tuition; with a few scholarships you could easily end up being paid to attend
as such, they only accept students who cannot pay for college on their own (determined by the FAFSA)
the fafsa doesn't consider debt, therefore since my sister just recently moved out (one less dependency) and my parents had an unusually good year, the government(FAFSA) thinks that my parents can give me 7K a year to go to college (they can't, they have 110K of debt). the limit is 5K
so i had to send in an appeal form that basically says 'i don't really have money here is proof'
just got a call back, they still think that I have too much, despite having nothing
hurts
You might still get to change your dependency status like I have (I now qualify for the Pell Grant and other loans and benefits)
(I suggest talking to a financial aid rep. first) Go to studentloans.gov and have your parents fill out a Parent Plus loan request under Direct loans. Since your parents are knee deep in debt they probably will get denied the loan which basically tells the school, "Hey, I'm poor and can't afford it on my own!" They then go through the process of changing your dependency status on your FAFSA and voila, you're your own dependent.
I got accepted to both my local and my Province's universities, but chose to go to my local one. University of Winnipeg. Attempting Pre-Medical.

One does not "try" premed. Do or do not.
I got accepted to the Undergrad Architecture Program at the University of Illinois, as well as the Illinois Institute of Technology with a $90,000 scholarship. I chose U of I because I like their program better and my dead rich grandparents are supporting the tuition anyway.
Got accepted to Ringling and SCAD. Fucking excited.
Just got accepted to Campbell University in North Carolina. It's a good school. Private Christian school but it offers a lot of different majors. They also just offered me a 7000-12000 dollar scholarship that would more than pay off the rest of the tuition that my GI Bill wouldn't cover.
Looking at everybody's posts, I wish I would have set my goals a littler higher. I did get into UW (majoring in CS) though, which is cool...although it's way too expensive since I'm out of state. :suicide:
I'll be attending SUNY Binghamton in the Fall for Computer Science.
Bumping this thread because around now is the time when people start graduating high school and/or accepting offers to universities.
I've accepted my offer to Ottawa University for Commerce (5-year degree because of co-op). I have at least $1,000 in scholarships, with an extra ~$8,000 having applied for (hope I get some! :D).
Share your details everyone!
I'll be attending the University of South Florida for Computer Engineering starting in Fall.
University of California: San Diego is welcome in my life. Who says I have to go to an Arizona school?
Taking a base year at the moment, next year I'm going to take Engineering Physics at KTH in Stockholm. Pretty much guaranteed to get in, seeing as the average mark for the base year students who got in is C, I've got an average of B+.
Whelp, the very last exam turned out to be a ultra hard motherfucker (to the point they are actually investigating how the hell that got through without anyone seeing it was way way too difficult), so my average got quite compromised.
Here's hoping I still get in (I know I'm still getting in, but if it will be EngPhys I don't know).
Heading to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo studying Civil Engineering this fall. Really excited... turned down UCLA and USC for it :3
Got accepted to Ringling and SCAD. Fucking excited.
haha i live by ringling college of art and design! its literally in the hood! prostitutes on route 41 (tamiami trail) and drug deals and fights go down on MLK all the time. I'm not trying to scare you or anything but theres so much to do in sarasota besides all that. you would love it and its right near the beach.
I am going to be a junior next year at Southern Illinois University studying Information Systems & Applied Technology (ISAT). I was doing computer science, but the math portion of the graduating requirements was too much for me. It's nothing prestigious like some of the schools you guys got into, but it's definitely underrated. I wasn't that much of a good student in High School.
I'm trying to transfer closer to home to University of South Florida in the next spring semester.
i'm a philosophy and sociology double major, might go into the pre-law track, but i'd just like to go onto grad school
Sociology and criminology double major here, PhD ongoing. (post)Grad school is the way to go
Got accepted into University of Toronto, McGill, UBC, UWaterloo and SFU, decided to choose UofT.

And then I discover that there is no English course for engineering.
I'm down to my last 3 or so English classes of my life. :D
