All I have to say is, pray for more of your ISPs to be bought by French internet providers, because that's the only way you're getting decent internet that doesn't cost you an arm and a leg :v:
At least you guys have cheap internet, I pay $110 a month for this shit in Australia

This is for 30-40(i cant remember the exact price) eur here and it includes all our tv channels too.
What the fuck. My ISP charter have rep's on 24/7.
we got this shitty "Ubee" one in return
Holy fuck ubee is old I don't know anyone who uses those anymore. If you have one currently either your ISP is a cheap fuck or you have phone service and your phone is plugged into your Ubee. Then again you can do that with practically any modem. So it's probably that the Service Tech that day only had a Ubee in his truck.
Problem with being a Service Tech is trying to be on time for appointments for the day. I use to get 6-8 a day for 10 hour day. And some days work orders be so bad all it would tell you is the packages they ordered. You'd arrive at the house and they never had Charter before(3 hours right there) or they had satellite(now you gotta check everything(fittings, coax lines, etc..) and make sure it will pass a possible QA inspection).

My grandmother is in LA and has AT&T U-Verse. Not sure how much she pays, but I hope it's measured in quarters.

Never had an issue with comcast
Brighthouse is amazing, I would switch back to them immediately if they were in South Carolina.
Time Warner and AT&T are all I have up here now and both of them are atrocious.
I like Brighthouse because you can swap any equipment out at their offices for no charge. Want faster internet, just stop by and pickup a DOCSIS compatible modem. Problem solved.
I've had Time Warner for about two-three months now, and aside from some drops of service for about 5m (until I reset my router) I've had no real issues. Some of the fastest internet I've ever had, really.
I type this then go to Speedtest to check, and see I have a ping of 47 to Lenexa Kansas (I'm in Leavenworth) and that my DL speed has dropped around 40~mpbs, at least according to this.
Verizon Fios in the DC area has worked really well for us, so far. We have it for our phones/landlines/TV/Internet and it's been 100% solid aside from some maintenance things that usually don't last more than an hour or two, maybe like every 5 months. The support has always been pretty top notch on all fronts, when one of our boxes shits the bed for our TVs they send someone over almost immediately, internet issues haven't even popped up so haven't needed those yet, it's pretty great. I'm sure if I dig around google I'll find some reddit post about how "verizon literally kicks puppy I r sad >:^L ), but judging on the quality of the product, easily the best we've had.

The one they gave us looked brand new, and we don't operate though a phone line at all. In fact we don't even have a home phone service anymore. I've also talked to other Time Warner customers from other states and they said they got some shitty Ubee thing as well usually.
The guy who came out to service whatever said that today was a slow day for him so there wasn't much excuse. Unless he was plain old lying.

maybe because his grandmothers computer was too slow to upload
This is what I have while I'm back home in rural England. I don't think my parents pay much for it though and I'm not here long enough to complain about it.
I would almost kill to have Comcast again my current ISP is so bad.
After 10 years of being with them (Not by choice, but because no one else is allowed to sell internet here) I wasn't grandfathered out of their data caps. No one was. Even though they said so, they changed their mind with a tiny notice about it printed on the back of the bill a couple weeks in advance. Not only that, the internet doesn't hold a connection through a download. It disconnects every time (Unless I throttle my own speed to 512kbps or slower to reduce the chance of disconnecting). This results in me having to re-download files a lot, which eats into my cap more than I normally would. This is also not a problem with my modem, router or lines, and the power levels and noise levels are all absolutely perfect, so I don't know what the fuck they're doing.
I'm basically being scammed out of 'finite' bandwidth for money. The only way around it is to use torrents or a download manager (Which I can't do with stuff like Netflix which disconnects me non stop throughout the video) and my ISP hates torrents. I get DMCA notices over random shit
And for some reason if you trace my IP it shows that I'm in Iowa instead of Florida. How fucked up is my ISP? And you can forget calling them. The last time I talked to a person about my problems, the idiot would only say "Wow that sucks" Like he was my buddy I was talking to over teamspeak about my crappy internet, rather than the ISP's supposed tech support
On the subject of sleazy business practices, if you want to cancel your XBox Live subscription, and do it via the website, you get a mysterious error code when you click the Cancel button. Strangely enough, the website doesn't even seem to try anything, it just links you straight to an error code. And even stranger, in regions where it's mandatory to be able to cancel stuff like that from a website, everything works perfectly.
It's a lot better than this video though, cause when I just did it by phone some bored London guy picked up instantly and cancelled it right away.

Microsoft can eat a hot dick. This is one of the sleaziest things a company like that can do.
