[SHOCKING POLICE BRUTALITY] Cop claims to smell marijuana in car

fucking hippies
that was great, props to the cop
The police can stop a vehicle for any reason, at least in the UK.
Curious: does the police of USA have the right to stop and search anyone, without any cause? Because "I smelled marijuana" doesn't seem like a good enough reason to me.
US Police have to either have a warrant to search your home(s) and car(s), unless they have reasonable suspicion that there is something illegal on/in your property.
Claiming that they "smell marijuana" is considered reasonable suspicion, plus to add to the fact that the guy resisted the search so heavily made him seem even more guilty of having marijuana in his car.

2:40 : They have all of the rights of a US Citizen without following any of their laws.
how the fuck can somebody rationally make that statement?
Also, California never signed the Articles because it wasn't a state at the time. So the Articles were never binding on California at any point in time in history.
Interestingly enough, making the statement "I am not a US citizen" essentially renounces your citizenship on the spot and makes you stateless (I mean, unless you're a dual citizen or something). So legally speaking, they do not have any rights but must follow all laws, and essentially fuck themselves.
Well, not necessarily no rights at all, the way the US constitution is written there are certain rights that apply to every human being within its jurisdiction, regardless of their legal status, however nobody within its jurisdiction is immune to any laws as complete equality before the law is one of those rights that applies to everyone. However renouncing your citizenship is grounds for deportation as your citizenship is typically your legal basis for residency.
And of course yes the articles of confederation have never held any legal authority in the majority of the US as they were written and subsequently thrown out before most of them were added.
"I come in peace"

Basically when you're dealing with police officers just do what they say.
Man Sovereign Citizens/Freeman of the land are funny.

that old man just rips his fucking window to shreds with no gloves and drags the large-sounding manchild out of his car, kicking and screaming. holy fuck, that dude's a badass.

It doesn't quite work like that.
" A person wishing to renounce his or her U.S. citizenship must voluntarily and with intent to relinquish U.S. citizenship:
1. appear in person before a U.S. consular or diplomatic officer,
2. in a foreign country (normally at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate); and
3. sign an oath of renunciation "

"I don't know what the hell law book you're reading but it doesn't apply to me."
"Leave the camera with your mother outside this room and you can proceed."
"You are not God, you have no jurisdiction over me!"
right there, the other guy should have said "There's no God here today. Just me."
i would fucking love to hear what the "sovereign citizen" has to say then.

Interestingly enough you have no idea what you're talking about. You can't just renounce your citizenship without the proper paperwork.
I'm the kid in the video complaining that I wanna go home.

"yeah well you don't seem that important so why should i care"
P. Barnes is my hero.
It's cute how many people in here are willing to give up their freedom just to "move the process along". All it takes is a simple "there is no marijuana in the car, as I don't smoke it. I do not consent to unlawful searches, so get a warrant please. We will wait here until you have legal justification for a search if you so wish" and all of this bullshit would have been avoided. If that cop wants to wait hours to get a warrant just to search an empty car, that's his loss. I'd find it funny wasting his time :v go prevent a real, dangerous crime instead of wasting everybody's time and tax dollars busting potheads because you have nothing better to do

It's going to do a lot of shit, i.e. shit being flung all over the place and making everything stinky
Man there should be a law that if a police comes across a sovereign citizen they shouldn't need to explain anything and can just rip off the car door and arrest the person on the spot. The police waste so much time on these damn idiots.

Cops in the U.S don't need warrants to search vehicles. As long as they have probable cause they can do as they wish.
Cops in the U.S don't need warrants to search vehicles. As long as they have probable cause they can do as they wish.
That's not very nice
Cops in the U.S don't need warrants to search vehicles. As long as they have probable cause they can do as they wish.
If they have probable cause they can actually search anywhere. Also most states have what are called "implied consent" laws which state you must comply with an officer's request for proof of license and insurance.
Then there's also "plain view doctrine" which states that if evidence is openly exposed to the public eye then it can be seized without a warrant.
That's not very nice
Neither is telling someone that your name is "I do not consent". Just because someone has a badge doesn't mean that you have an excuse to abandon human decency.
We gotta bring back the "This Idiot Deserved it" thread, the content in there was great, before most of it was taken down for various reasons.
That's not very nice
You know what else is not nice? People holding up cops and trying to argue with them because "I KNOW BETTER THAN THESE STUPID PIGS". If a person holds up a cop and doesn't cooperate, what do you expect them to do? Let them go? No. If a person isn't giving their license and reg. and keeps holding up the cop he is required to force the person out and the only way to do that is to bash their window in. Holding up a cop and not cooperating is illegal, you're impeding him.
That's not very nice
Boo fucking hoo. It could have gone easy with the guy just letting the officer look around and it would have been over in no time, but instead he threw some paranoid bitch fit and embarrassed himself AND made the officers job harder and day worse.

You can go back to reddit and enjoy the anti cop turbo circle jerk there if you like

Yeah why can't we have an anarchy

What a catastrophic and deadly surrender of a vital freedom that is, cooperating with a police officer. Imagine if we all did this, our daughters would all be shagging communists by this time next year.
All these Sov. Cit. morons out there should make a simple Google search sometime. Holy fuck, this shit shouldn't even have to be Googled TBH, it's blatantly obvious but w/e.

As someone who is wanting to become a Police Officer, i'm genuinely worried about running into people like this.
