hey this is pretty cool, subbed
hey this is pretty cool, subbed
Thank you so much for subbing! Ya'll are super kind.
We just finished our acoustic cover of the Athletic/Overworld 2 theme from Super Mario Bros. 3. Any feedback or constructive criticism would be very helpful!
We put up our cover of the "Astral Observatory" theme from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask yesterday. We are pretty happy with how this one turned out, and would appreciate any feedback!
Still hold my position of this channel being super cute. Keep it up! Also, sick matching shirts
Music from Zelda never fails to give me the warm fuzzies. Always cheers me up. Gerudo Valley is my all time fav song, I'd love to hear you guys do a cover of that.

We got the shirts for this hipster-ish thing we were trying to do, and the colors sort of fit with the Astral Observatory colors, so we shoved 'em into this one!

I'm thinking that we will tackle it before the end of the year, hopefully? Thank you for the very sweet words!
Awesome work, keep it up!
Fantastic, really good rhythm and the matching shirts are a nice touch.
also wanted to drop in and say I subbed like a few months ago when I saw one of the covers done on Windwaker OST, really good stuff! Keep the great videos up
PHrag: Thanks a lot! Flyingman356: That means a lot! We get in our head about every new cover we do, and it usually isn't until we get some feedback that we feel good about it. Mooe94: We were really happy with that Wind Waker cover. So glad you liked it!
Our new Sonic "Green Hill Zone" cover:
We recently uploaded a cover of the 'Mad Monster Mansion' theme from Banjo Kazooie. We appreciate any and all feedback/constructive criticism.
this one was nice. imo this was better than the green hill zone, not because you didn't cover it right, simply because the song was rather simple to begin with whereas banjo's soundtrack has better songs in general.

We have a closer bond to the Banjo Kazooie games (as strange as that may sound), so we were much more excited to do this cover.
This isn't particularly exciting because of the nature of the piece and it's missing some of the atmospheric stuff that pushes the original along, but it's accurate and that's saying a lot. There's another decent version from awhile ago but this one is cleaner.

More Banjo & Kazooie covers please!
Any chance you'd cover Sudeki's New Brightwater soundtrack?
We just finished our cover of the Main Theme from Luigi's Mansion. Was definitely the most fun we've ever had recording a cover! Wablur: It may take a while, but we definitely want to return to Banjo Kazooie in the future. Gruntilda's Lair and Freezeezy Peak are two tunes we really want to do. We are both finishing up our degrees, so if ever the day comes that we can devote more time to this project, we'll definitely upload more and do more tunes from Banjo Kazooie. Kirbyfactor: We've never looked into it, but thanks a bunch for the suggestion! We'll give the soundtrack a listen. We obviously can't make any guarantees, but we'll definitely take a look and see if it something that would work for us. Thanks again!
We recently finished our Zelda: A Link Between Worlds medley.
Our new cover of the "Dogsong" theme from Undertale:
We made a cover of the "Lazy Afternoons" theme from Kingdom Hearts II. Though it's a simple and short cover, it's one we are very proud of. We adjusted the tempo a tad, while still trying to keep the heart of the cover intact. It's a tune that means a lot to both of us, so we were really excited to do this one during the holiday season.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you guys start, and what was it like trying to start doing covers like this? I'm also a guitar player, though not as polished as you two, and I love the idea of being able to play with someone like this. Again, great covers of some of the favorite songs from my youth, keep it up.

We started playing music together about a year ago (we met via Craigslist ads), and we were both really keen on doing music in some capacity. It was a now or never sort of thing, since both of us were wrapping up our degrees and were hoping to do pretty much anything that involved music in our spare time. So, we were very open when we started working together, and a month into jamming I brought up the fact that I had a small Youtube channel with around 200 subscribers, where I put up audio-only covers of video game songs. We thought that uploading more covers to that channel would be a good way for us to have more things going on, since it can be pretty depressing playing music with little to no outside feedback. It started from there and it has been part of our routine every since. Covers like these range from pretty easy to incredibly stressful. The ones where we add variations and adjust the tempo (like the Kingdom Hearts one) can be a bit stressful because we really get in our heads and get terrified that people won't like the things we've added or changed. Polish and all of that stuff takes practice more than anything, and truth be told, we are far far far away from the ability and chemistry that other guitar duos have (Super Guitar Bros. come to mind immediately), so it is always going to be a work in progress. That said, both of us were very flattered by this comment, and outside feedback is always nice to receive, so thank you kindly! Hope this wasn't too much of a ramble.
You two are amazing. Still waiting on that Gerudo Valley cover though! [editline]21st December 2015[/editline] Listening to this all just gives me a huge sense of nostalgia and I can't wipe the smile from my face. Really hope you guys get tonnes more subscribers.

Came in this thread expecting stuff like GTA, Resident Evil, Metal Gear, COD, etc. But all I'm seeing is old nintendo games and undertale.
Came in this thread expecting stuff like GTA, Resident Evil, Metal Gear, COD, etc. But all I'm seeing is old nintendo games and undertale.
We've stuck to, at the moment, games that we've really been passionate about, or alternatively, games we've grown up with. Both of us are probably more familiar with the Nintendo/Square-Enix/Rare universes than we are with the GTA or Metal Gear ones. Not to say that those franchises aren't great- we just simple haven't played them extensively, and have a bit of a home doing stuff we're more familiar with (from video game soundtracks, in particular, that we've been really attached to through the years). I do sincerely appreciate the constructive feedback. We'll work on diversifying the portfolio a bit, although I do want us to make sure that we've played the games and listened through the soundtracks of said games fully before we cover something from them.
