I like the country I'm in too. But I don't go around reminiscing about the old days of having an empire, the more I think about that one, the more repugnant I find the idea.
There's a very thin line between patriotism and nationalism.

This would never work, we have too many different needs and cultures to be catered for under one government, look at India, the government changes practically every election as it can't suit/represent over half the population due to the variation of culture in its populations. But all getting together under something like the UN is the closest thing we can have to this.
Enough of world politics and moral now though.

The first time I listened to Larks' Tongues in Aspic was through shitty earphones, so I put the volume up because the quiet section was too quiet. Then it broke into this MASSIVE heavy metal riff that blew my earphones apart and everyone could hear.
Wasn't my fault. :smith:
my headphones suck, you can hear it almost all the time no matter how low the volume is, while for me it isn't that loud at all.

For an example, one guy posted a comment on my Dream Theater video saying that "this is real music not that bruce springsteen crap"

I was decorating this stage one time, and I was listening to some music. It was Marvin Gaye of course... but it was his "depressing soul album" and then my friend enters to help me. Usual chit, chat... she's the nicest. I asked her if the music was alright and she says "yeah it's good".
Seriously... the music was probably the most inappropriate to play in public. But that person was so cool about being able to enjoy it with me, we just chilled.
Next thing is other people enter "WHAT IS THIS SHIT BRO, CHANGE IT........."

I get where you're coming from with the discovery aspect, I enjoy the music I discover, ergo I have more music to love the more I discover. It's like only ever eating out at burger king, and never trying KFC or In-n-out or wendy's, just because you know you like Burger king

Everyone on this section should be in it for the discovery of good music.
