There was a thread back then where someone shared a bunch of classical music saying that was "real" music and another member claimed that all rock is just the same riffs repeated and only stuff like classical and jazz has the "purest melody" or some stupid shit like that. I'll try to find it.
O yeh that idiot.
It is true though, prove to me that it isn't correct.
Music is about expression. Regardless of what people say.
There isn't a thing such as "perfect" music.
Jesus christ
Do people like that really exist?
Yes. :saddowns:
Classical can be the most complex. But is it the most expressive?
Tough question.
The amount of Singles that I have to integrate into other albums because it's annoying to have 5 actual albums and then one song sitting out by itself in it's own album art and everything.
I couldn't care less about singles to be honest. I mean they're nice to have as a physical version, but I don't see the appeal. :smith:

I disagree.
All the music that you like is inferior.

I bought a single by Cage The Elephant maybe a week before I got their new album, its cool that I got the single to hear what the new album sounded like but now I have two copies of the same song.

I do like singles in terms of having a b-side that's not on the album, but other than that. I'm not quite sure..
For example, a different version of the song in vinyl form is nice to have.
I only listen to lil wayne and gucci mayne

this is probably worst on youtube
There are idiots posting comments on youtube. :derp:

This is news to me too.
I have always thought that the YouTube audience was mature and well educated.
"Indie" being used as a legitimate music genre with which to describe what certain music or bands sound like.
"What kind of music do you like?"
"Indie."
Right then...

Yeah it's kinda being used as a stereotypical thing instead of the actual meaning of it.
It's one thing to classify music as 'indie', it's an easy way to throw a quick label on something you only have casual knowledge of - understandable.
It's ten times worse when someone uses it self-referentially. It screams ignorance.
I love seeing live gigs (on Youtube I mean, I've never actually been to any live gigs) and there's a guy fucking rocking out on stage, hunched over a laptop. It's hilarious.
Which I guess isn't a peeve but yeah.
Pretty sure my peeves have already been mentioned.
I disagree, you can't dislike people for liking a style of music in my opinion.
Crunkcore? Screamo?
Crunkcore? Screamo?
I like them. Sue me? :smug:
[editline]22nd May 2011[/editline]
A lot of people here think it's wrong to like noise music too.
Crunkcore? Screamo?
I like those genres, stop being dumb.
When The Mars Volta purposely includes a few minutes of ambient noises in a song for no goddamn reason. Everyone that listens to them knows what I'm talking about. Good thing the music they make is so goddamn good though that it evens out.

I listen to stuff people classify as indie music. But when people ask me what I listen to I say weird shit. Is that okay?
Metal sub-genres, I can't fucking keep up with them.
Drone Doom, Sludge, Prog, Death, Black n Thrash.
Those will do me fine. :3:

I don't pay attention to subgenres, I just enjoy the music, it's pretty easy to do.
People who are dickheads about subgenres on the other hand...

Yeah but knowing the sub-genre is an easy way to find other music that you may like.
For some reason, I hate it when the lyrics include the title of the song ESPECIALLY when it's in the chorus. I prefer when a title is unrelated to any of the lyrics. Don't ask me why though
I also hate when artists use the words "in the club" or "on the floor"
When somebody hates on a band because of how the members look/of their history.
