I am in a somewhat similar situation as you are at the moment. It annoys the crap out of me that I have such endless amounts of motivation towards seemingly useless activities such as playing games or surfing random crap, yet almost nonexistent amounts of motivation towards something actually productive such as coding, mapping, or modeling. it is not even about social connections at the moment, I learned to be perfectly satisfied with my virtual nonexistence of social life for a while now, it does not really bother me anymore. Hopefully that will change though, because I do have a bunch of ideas that I would like to implement. And thankfully I do have a few contacts that are willing to help me with progressing in those areas.

One of my friends has been really depressed, I'm a good writer, I'm thinking about writing a self-help book. Or just writing in general. My dad is good at guitar, I love music, why not go for that? I don't see how you can even come close to gathering enough information about me to determine what kind of person I am. What gives you the impression that I'm "in the state most guys are in here?" I did nothing this year, not a single thing that would be seen as 'helpful' or 'constructive' by society. I planned to get a job, my drivers license, eat better, actually try at school and not be on the PC as much. Those things went down the drain when ever I thought about them. Next year will be better.

Get a hobby, get some friends. All your problems will fade.

Theres an easy fix, just goto either school still or get a job or volunteer, just so you're active and meeting/socializing with people. The rest of your time you spend doing what you like, some people think that being at a party is a great Friday night, where as some think playing games with mates it, be it online mates or irl mates. Just as long as you're happy then you have nothing to worry about. Especially when heaps of teens are just wasting their life by smoking and drinking.

Really, OP and indeed all the OPs of these threads are stupid They just go "Oh wah, I'm wasting my life." or "Wah, I want something better to do with my time" Suggestions are made in these threads, "get a job, make some friends", "get a hobby, start hanging out with people even if you're just going to do what you do alone" Instead of taking this FUCKING obvious advice, the OP (and not directly you OP, but the OP of these threads in general) sit on their obese asses and continue to waste their fucking time on internet forums and continue to delve deeper into their cesspool of loneliness and self inadequacy.
