Holy shit, I think I have a book with his artistry in it, from when I was a kid
I don't even see the cat on the right of the last image. It's kinda sad to watch his schizophrenia unfold through his paintings. EDIT: So the cause of his schizophrenia could of been caused by a parasite from the thing he painted the most, or had another issue entirely. When I was reading through this page to catch on my lack of sleep, I noticed something was odd about this painting. [t]http://www.lambiek.net/artists/image/w/wain_louis/wain_louis_1909.jpg[/t] It doesn't seem to follow his normal style, and doesn't seem to appear that frequently, but the few times it appeared in Google Images, it was credited as Wain. Something about some of the facial expressions in this seem weird to me, but that's just me. I can't find it at a higher resolution to better analyze it, but I wonder how far gone he was at this point. If anyone or anyone with a friend well versed in art could help me find a better quality image, I will be very thankful. EDIT2:
His work is now highly collectible but care is needed as forgeries are common
Well motherfucking fuck, why must this be so difficult. EDIT3: So I tried to go all CSI on it with my iPad. Enhancing did jack squat. So I opened it in Chrome and zoomed in on it's pixels. I found some bits that makes some of it make sense, but the top right fourth is still confusing me the most, but not in the "can't see shit" or small hints of schizophrenia, just, "what is happening in that part."
Think I found a gold mine. http://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/1d2v7i/parents_of_reddit_what_is_the_creepiest_thing/
While changing my daughter in front of the open closet door. She kept looking around me and laughing. I asked her what was so funny. She said, "the man." To which I replied, "what man?" She then pointed at the closet and said, "the man with the snake neck." I turn around and nothing was there. I'm afraid to look into the history of my house to see if anyone hung themselves in the closet. At least she wasn't scared.
I can't stop looking deeper into this guy's psyche.
For his ears are so acute that they sting again. For from this proceeds the passing quickness of his attention. For by stroking of him I have found out electricity. For I perceived God’s light about him both wax and fire. For the Electrical fire is the spiritual substance, which God sends from heaven to sustain the bodies both of man and beast. For God has blessed him in the variety of his movements. For, tho he cannot fly, he is an excellent clamberer. For his motions upon the face of the earth are more than any other quadruped. For he can tread to all the measures upon the music. For he can swim for life. For he can creep.
I am going to have fucking nightmares tonight.
has this spooky gif been posted? i don't want to search because i'm a baby. [editline]25th May 2013[/editline] this'un too but it's less scary when you realize that [sp]the girl is laughing[/sp]
The first gif is from Grave Encounters 2. A Shite movie. But the first is pretty good.
Sorry about the poor description I'm about to give, but does anybody have the creepypasta where some guy gets put in some sort of big cellar or whatever, and then it's really cold, and to warm the place up he has to do things that a voice on an intercom says? I also remember that more people eventually come in, and he starts building a relationship with some girl, but then he finds some photo and becomes obsessed with it. I think he gets out at the end, but I'm not sure.
Cripes, Louis Wain was certainly a cool guy with that art of his. They say genius and madness walk hand in hand; in the case of Louis Wain I can assume this was true.
Think I found a gold mine.
Jesus christ, this stuff is terrifying.
I was sound asleep, and at around 6am I was woken up by my 4 year old daughters face inches from mine. She looked right into my eyes and whispered, "I want to peel all your skin off".

Jesus christ, this stuff is terrifying.
You left out the most important part of that post:
The backstory here is I had been sunburned the previous week, and was starting to peel. In my sleep addled state however, it was pretty terrifying for a few seconds. I didn't know if I was dreaming, or what was going on.

You left out the most important part of that post:
Left it out on purpose, just to give it a bit more creepiness. But yeah, that's the backstory.
I was on a bus recently and we were stopped outside a walk-in clinic. A little girl in the seat in front of me turned to her dad and said, "Death is the poor man's doctor." And that was that.
that's pretty fucking metal
My father tells me this story of my childhood every once in a while: When I was around six years old, my dad's best friend committed suicide. We'll call him "Joe" for the sake of the story. Obviously, it was a very rough and emotional time for my dad. Joe was my dad's best man at his wedding, the one guy who was always there for him. After my dad got married, he and my mother left Joe and the town they were in to start a life outside of the town they grew up in. After years of moving around California, my family eventually moved to Utah, where my father worked for a successful internet business. Joe stayed behind in Washington. Because my family were so far away from their old life with Joe, there wasn't a lot of foresight/warning that Joe intended on ending his own life. Joe's sister apparently had been blaming Joe's wife for her brothers suicide. Joe and his wife drank a lot of booze, and probably as a result, fought a lot. My father always said that they were a passionate couple; yes, they would fight often, but he hardly knew two other individuals who were so completely in love. For this reason, he didn't believe it. A few days after Joe committed suicide, his widow called up my father sobbing about how she thought it was her fault. After about an hour of trying to console her, he told her "If there was a way for me to talk to Joe now, I guarantee you that he would tell you that he loved you, and that it wasn't your fault that he ended his life." Crying, she still didn't believe him, but she thanked him for the kind words and let my father go. My dad was obviously distraught after that long, hysteric conversation. He had been down in his office for a while, and he decided to come up and check on his kids while making a pot of coffee to take his mind off of things. We were all supposed to be napping, but he thought he'd peek his head into our rooms to make sure we were safe/maybe try to have a little smile or brightness added to his day. Sure enough, when my dad got to my room, I was fast asleep on my bed. He went to my brother's room, and he was also sleeping. Finally, he checks on my sister, who is sleeping as smugly as an angel. He decides to go back towards my room and into the kitchen to make some coffee. As he walks by my room, he notices a whimper. He turns around, and enters my room, where he finds me weeping. I was five years old, so the way I was crying seemed odd to him. Normally a five year old would cry drastically over dramatically. I wasn't. I was just sitting on the side of my bed, weeping. My dad enters my room and says "Matty, whats up? Why are you crying?" It's then that I stop crying for a moment, look up at him with teary eyes and say "Rick, it's not her fault. I love her. It's not her fault." With that, I stopped crying, rolled over back onto my bed, and fell swiftly back to sleep. Needless to say, my dad shit his pants.
Holy fuck
Holy fuck
What?
;39788934']I'm sad. Nothing scares me anymore. I remember the days when things could actually creep me out, but I think I have just seen it all now.
When I was a child I was absolutely terrified of everything. I had panic attacks multiple times a week because I was terrified of what could be there in the dark. Now I can't feel scared in life or death situations. I swear that all of the fright got scared out of me when I was a kid. I read through short horror stories every single night trying to find something that can make me get the chills and look behind me but have not had any success whatsoever.

Because no matter how many fake monster stories there are you can always worry about real animals.
And dangerous individuals to boot, depending on the area.
My mum wanted me to search up "happy birthday sweet angel in heaven" for my dead cousin's birthday memorial. Lotta dead babies in the image section.

Awkward creepypasta should be called spookyspaghetti
http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/Keep_a_Diary
I still don't understand this story.

Does anybody remember a youtube commercial that was a psychiatric evaluation with a supposedly insane woman? I think it was a viral marketing technique for a movie but I don't remember. It was creepy though. [editline]30th May 2013[/editline] Also might as well contribute some nice creepy music. This is one of, if not the, best horror movie themes IMHO.
True that; interesting and a bit gross in places, but overall not something that'd have me thinking something's behind me when I'm trying to sleep. I already get that feeling whenever I'm on my side and there's nothing to protect my back, like if I'm facing the wall; there's always that feeling of being watched, coupled with thoughts of something long-haired in a night gown with it's jaw hanging at it's chest. Imagine Sadako wearing a Scream mask, and that'd be kinda similar to what I feel is behind me when I'm trying to sleep. Doesn't make me terrified, since I know it's just a thought, but it does unsettle just a bit, give that sense of vulnerability.

That's not saying a lot towards coolness.
