I'm looking to take up guitar .
...go buy one?
I'm having a hard time memorizing songs. I can get pretty far into this one song, but I just completely forget what comes next and I can't really keep flipping pages :saddowns:

How good is a Fender Squire bass for a beginner? I got it as a gift(because I've wanted to learn bass for AGES), and it's in really nice shape and everything.
I'm not a big fan of the genre this guy is playing, but would you look at his picking hand.
How good is a Fender Squire bass for a beginner? I got it as a gift(because I've wanted to learn bass for AGES), and it's in really nice shape and everything.
depends on which kind of Squier it is. Usually they're alright, but nothing special
depends on which kind of Squier it is. Usually they're alright, but nothing special
Well some squiers are better than new Fenders actually but you just gotta try some out because there are pearls.
Guys, would i be able to get an ok bass for 80 pounds or should i save up for something?
save. you're gonna get jack shit for that price, even if you buy used. unless the person is a retard. like the person I bought my Shine from, £25 for a fairly good condish, great sounding PJ bass
Or your can inspect it for yourself. What goes on in a guitar really isn't anything complex.
It seems to work if I push the lead up really hard, so I think it's the socket that's broken, so I'll try get a new one today and put that in
Hooray, it's now fixed
depends on which kind of Squier it is. Usually they're alright, but nothing special
Well it's a Squier precision-bass I think, not entirely sure.
Well it's a Squier precision-bass I think, not entirely sure.
Judging purely by specs it's alright. I heard many times that the cheaper Squiers are of really low quality and literally fall apart after a relatively short period of time, though.
How does the Epiphone Thunderbird go up against the Gibson Thunderbird? Here is two pics: First the Epiphone version Here is the Gibson version Whats the diffrence specvise?
I may be getting a five string bass today. It's between an Ibanez 205 (forget which exact variant) or another Ibanez which I don't know the model to. Depends on how cheap one or the other is because the music store here is having a factory direct sale. :v:
ive always wanted a thunderbird, think i might get myself an epiphone :p
It is GLORIOUS! [img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/Photo_Feb_17_3_46_38_PM1.jpg[/img_thumb] $200 for it. It's used, has a few scratches but plays fucking awesome.
I recently got a epiphone explorer bass for $150 and I'm borrowing a washburn bass amp for a friend.
I play kazoo, isnt that a lot like bass?

Amp question here. Is it safe to leave the back of my amp box open? When I have it on the bass sounds a little trapped and like the vibration is rattling the back of the amp. I took it off last night to see if that would fix it and it did. Bass sounds louder and much clearer, plus no more flab from the vibration. However I heard somewhere that the amplifier needs a box for "sucking" air or something to stop the reverb or something like that.
why do you leave your amp in your box what
why do you leave your amp in your box what
Combo amp, only 2 small holes for pressure escape, not enough, removed backplate off box housing speaker, is this safe?
i don't think it really matters
Thats an SR or a GSR. I'm too lazy to check.
It's a GSR but I don't know what model. It's got knob-on-a-knob that sorta acts like an built in amplifier (and even needs a 9-volt to work). The third one closest to the bridge.
Ibanez GSR 205.
Well no shit but there are several kinds of 205's. I don't see the one I have on their website tho.
Things seem to be going smooth here, but whats the point of a Bass thread? A Bass guitar is still a guitar, people seemed to be posting basseses just fine in the other thread.
Most of the time when a bass question is posted in the guitar thread they're like "We don't know much about bass guitars...". In turn, this was made.
