It was back for an episode last series. I prefer the new one, gives the sense it's as big as it is. The old one was too self contained.

Nah, I much prefer the new TARDIS interior. So much cleaner and the contraptions make much more sense. The way they described it was that the TARDIS is timeless, so it took the best machine parts from whatever era.
Seems like every time me or my siblings watch a Doctor Who episode my Windows 7 PC shuffles to a Doctor Who wallpaper :v:

I really liked this scene though.
Like I always liked Matts Doctor a lot and was easily my favourite but when I saw him use the old console like he's used it a 1000 times in the past without even hesitating then part of my brain went "He's The Doctor. The same fucking Doctor :D And despite how different it looks it is the same show"
I like that bit of continuity. It's why I really want Jack back.

Like sometimes the writers make him too 'new'. Like how he experiences emotions and acts like he's never had them before. He's meant to be a new man but not a total baby who has had no experience of these things. He has memories of feeling like that.
I caught up. TATM fucking sucked and is full of insanely stupid plot flaws.

That made me realize. Transition from 9 to 10 was easier than from 10 to 11 because it wasn't all new - same old Tardis, same (not) old Rose.
10 to 11 was like a reboot (well, it WAS a reboot, and that's lame), with everything new. I started with not really liking 11th because of that. He's better now, but damn, every time a reference was made to S1-S5, I instantly liked him more.
Other than that, it's like he's a totally different person than 9/10.

I personally care much more for the numerous references (right down to Tom Baker's voice) to Classic Who. Much more reassuring to me than Nu 1-4, and I wasn't alive during any of it. Just because it's, you know, further back.
I was thankful for the reboot though, especially, after 2009. Unfortunately I only enjoyed one of the 'specials', so the trailer after The End of Time for Smith's era was very well-received. Even then, I'm still pleased that we do occasionally get links to the four series prior. Rose even managed to work her way in to Series Six.

It's not that bad.
I thought AoTD is the second/third best Dalek story we've had and easily one of the best series openers. If not THE best.
Dinosaurs wasn't my cup of tea, I won't be jumping to rewatch it but it was an enjoyable romp. Introduced a nice character.
Mercy was fun. But once again nothing I personally would jump to rewatch.
Power of Three was fucking marvelous. Easily a favourite for me. They finally made Amy and Rory feel like a married couple and not a hook-up. Also more Brian. Also Unit done really well. Also introduced a great new villain.
TatM isn't one I'd get the itch to rewatch again because I didn't like how continuity just got fucked as Moffat made up rules as he went along which he always does. It once again feels like Moffat trying to write like Moffat. It was overly bloated and rushed and the consequences didn't feel like consequences. It was a love letter to Moffat from Moffat. A bit like all the later RTD episodes.
Despite this I still enjoyed it.
I've enjoyed this series more than 6 as it's less plot-arc-building-up-to-unsatisfying-conclusion. Though I guess it's nearly just as bad with the apparent lack of arc (Those flicking lights meant nothing) and predictability. Also we already established we miss two-parters.
I dunno, I liked S7 up until TATM - except for the whole "Doctor getting forgotten" thing.
We'll see how it goes. Let's hope for the best.
Before Series 7 started, I said I would go in to each episode with the utmost optimism, and reserve criticisms until the run had ended. I'm glad I did, ultimately, because I didn't want to risk limiting my enjoyment of each episode by over-analysing at the time. Happy to do it until Christmas, though! Each episode has it's faults no doubt (in no small part to the "blockbuster of the week" brief), but I did enjoy each of them on a first run. Got to make the most of the five =(
I have watched each again. The latter four, only one re-watch, but Asylum I've seen countless times already. I can imagine Asylum and Power of Three are the two I would watch again in the future on any kind of semi-regular basis.
to be honest, i found dinosaurs on a spaceship the most enjoyable because it was just like classic who. it was funny and introduced some great characters who i hope we see again.
A title Matt Smith almost let slip is actually legit, so it seems... and it's brilliant.

I don't know how could call it the best series opener next to the eleventh hour, the impossible astronaut, etc. I would say it was the worst out of the matt smith series at least. tbh I thought it was pretty terrible because it messed with the dalek canon way too much - making them forget him, I almost spewed
it didn't really seem like a proper opener - it was just another monster of the week thing with the pointless daleks forgetting him and rory and amy divorcing arcs.
Anybody know if we'll see Captain Jack in the future with Matt? He has to be my favourite character.
